cоck Fertility
I have a young cоckbird which has unfortunately not been able to fill an egg through six rounds laid by his mate.I'm wondering if anyone here has had experience with this and used the cоck Fertility Tablets they sell on the pigeon supply websites.If so,did the tablets solve the problem,or not?

IMO, if I had such a bird which didn’t fill the bill, while my other cоcks were. I would set him aside and try another cоck, to make sure it is NOT the hen. If all things being equal, such as age, temperature, feed, water, length of daylight and what ever else is in the loft. And the hen was producing nicely w/ another mate, under the same conditions, then I would have to realize it WAS THIS cоck that had a fertility problem.
And if I had such a cоck, I certainly would NOT bother to give him anything extra to help his problem. As the saying goes.., “the devil is in the details/ fine print”. Do you want to start a line of birds, that the cоcks had to have an extra pill to produce? And if this be the case, then it won’t be long until you’ll have to give those pills to the hens as well.
Two things come to mind as I type. The ages of both birds, how many rounds were tried and are they of opposite sexes ??? I understand from reading on the net, that sometimes in pigeons, two birds of the same sex will mate up, even though there ARE birds of the opposite sex available for courting/ mating. Gayness doesn’t only happen in people, ya-know….
Quality breeding first starts w/ what’s normal to life. If something isn’t quite normal in an animal, it is your first tip off, that there will be more abnormality to follow later. This is how man has come up w/ SO MANY different breeds of animals. Pigeons not being able to feed their own young. And Bulldogs that have to have caesarian birthing. Both…, just to carry on a line of a breed.
But then it’s just MO…

It is not unusual that hens lay the eggs while separated. Dilema here is if the cоck is infertile or their mating is not right.
Since you already have "Alberta" hens switch them around an crosscheck, but this time breake fresh egg and exsamine, chance is hen is not seeting on eggs ower night.

He is a Husband OR,born last spring.I've tried trimming the vents on both birds,twice,and she sets the eggs through the night.I'm hoping some of my winter hatched ORs will soon show me their sexes and I'll put one of them with the hen.Don't want to spend time raising anything off those Skistimas birds yet.
