RED CELL Horse Supplement

Hi all,
Any of you guys use a product called RED CELL on your pigeons? It's a horse supplement. If so how much do you give your birds?
Thank you all,
Charles

I use it... I use one Tablespoon per gallon of water. It's best to use it everyday because it's a vitamin/mineral supplement and most of them get washed out of the bird's system in 24 hours, but I use other supplements as well, so I can't use it everyday. My regime is to alternate Probotics, Red Cell and raw Apple Cider Vinegar.

One day Animal Control came in to inspect my birds and in the first loft the officer inspected, she was critical of the "dirty, filthy water" I was giving my birds. She said, "that has to be changed." I told her that was a vitamin/mineral supplement. She asked what brand, and I told her Red Cell. After that her whole attitude about me changed. She went from being critical to being impressed and the rest of the inspection went smoothly.

Re: RED CELL Horse Supplement

IMHO, regardless of what supplements we use in the water, the most important factor in prevention is making sure the water is fresh every 24 hours and the fountains are drooping proof. All kinds of problems can develop if we let the water sit more than 24 hours without changing it. Even worse is fountains that allow droppings to enter the water. One example is Paratyphoid can spread from healthy carriers either by dust blowing into the water or by droppings contaminating the water from the carriers.
