Re: Orme Strain
Kelly, when one watches these birds (ORs) fly together, and harrass each other up there, do stunts, or one fly the wrong direction (Over and over) at high speed into a kit and never see contact, I think 5ft. is not even close, I've seen bops 2 ft. and closer several times on younger birds but my youngest bird is 5 months or older now, they dodge so fast, I look farward for a bop to try.
Good luck flying all
Wes

Re: Orme Strain
Wes,
Im sure glad your experiencing the same results as i am.It got to a point where i was hesitant to mention the 'O' word and im certainly happy to have someone else seeing them fly like they do.
I flew them yesterday because i couldn't stand just feeding them without flying.I took a chance since the BOP situation a couple weeks ago and released the oldest kit of 08's.They done real good as usual but seemed to fly faster and more alert.when they came down,4 trapped and 3 remained on the roof.i scared them up again and the 3 were doing their thing all over the place. They seem to stay at na certain height before performing.1 even taildanced down to about 20 ft from the kitbox and returned to the other 2 birds. It was like he had a target on the ground to hit.
My fehrholz are in complete lock down until further notice. They are trap trained and anxious to go but i need to move their kit box away from the wooded area[ambush].
have fun with your birds and glad to read your comments.
