posticon Meadows Related Questions For Bexley Council

Towards the end of our first public meeting last night there were a few specific questions raised by users of The Meadows aimed at the representatives of Bexley Council that where there.

I have asked Mark Taylor (Parks Nature Conservation & Community Officer) whether he's happy for a topic to be started here where questions and concerns regarding the Councils' maintenance of The Meadows can be asked and recorded.
He's agreed this is a good idea but did ask me to mention that he cannot guarantee a response and that if the particular issue or concern is of an urgent nature then contacting the Council through the usual channels would be more effective.

If you do wish to do so the contact details are:

Bexley Council
Crayford Town Hall
Crayford Road
Kent
DA1 4ER

Mark's internal extention: 6806
Mark's email address: Mark.Taylor@bexley.gov.uk
Direct Dial & 24hr Answer service: 01322 356806
Main Council Switch Board: 0208 303 7777

If your question does not require immediate attention and you would like there to be a record of you asking it though, then by all means post it here.

Think that this is a very good idea. Some things need recording so they can be taken into account when planning but may not be of immidiate consern. If you have the chance to get them down in writing they don't get forgotten quite as easily.

Questions for Bexley Council and other authorities with responsibility within the meadows was an issue raised at Last nights meeting. I feel that this will be a topic for the de brief meeting, when we will need to explore ways of addressing this within the aims and ethos we are developing for the group. I am pleased that committee members have identified this and look forward to the group tackling this matter, first within the committee debrief.

A question for Bexley Council:

Has an additional, or larger, public bin been considered for Five Arches bridge area?

It's just that at the end of a sunny weekend the 2 that are currently there (the big square one on the North Cray Road side & the small one on the other side) are usually so full that they're over-flowing.

This both looks unsightly & causes a fair amount of litter to be blown into the river.
