Obviously at the moment the board is quiet and membership is limited to committee members and their family! However in the future we hope this will grow and the general public will use it to find out about FCM and FFCM's events etc.
In preparation of that would it be possible to make me (and anyone else interested and able to visit the forum regularly) a Moderator?
If so some instructions on how to carry out 'mod' duties will definitely be helpful
Re: Moderators Yes of course - as you say Moderators aren't really required at the moment but I will make you one now so that you'll be able to help out with the up-keep of the message board at a later date.
Generally, all you'll be required to do is visit here as often as you can, even if it's just very briefly, and check that things are in order.
By that I mean, if we were to have a trouble-maker join for the sole purpose of causing chaos (I've had the misfortune to come across one or two of these people over the years on Internet message boards) you would have the power to delete any offensive posts & even ban a user if required.
Hopefully a situation like that will never arise but as this board is completely open to the public it is a possibilty.
Re: Moderators I recently made fellow board user and friend of mine C Simmons a moderator to keep an eye on things whilst myself & the FFCM Secretary were holidaying in Devon.
Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone was wondering who the new Mod is.
