How did Adu get into this
Hello everyone. Im a avid soccer player myself down here in California and I play on my highschool team. I wanted to ask how did Adu manage to get into say, the US U-17 team? I do have an idea on how to get into the MLS but im not so sure.. What I think they do is after your done with highschool if your good enough go to a good university, say UCLA. After you start playing on their soccer team and if you do good "they" might notice who you are. "They" as in a MLS team, down here in my case it would be the Los Angeles Galaxy.
In other countries such as Brazil which by the way is where Im from also has a much easier system for this. If you want to join a club soccer team such as Flamengo they have youth divisions for the club team, but of course you have to have skill for them to even choose you to get on. As you grow older when playing on the team you move up in division. If your good enough they will eventually move you into the adult division which from there on out is where your future starts.
If someone could explain to me how Freddy Adu did it please post and explain. If this is really the way it is to join a professional team I guess I got a long way to go..

if you keep playing well for your high school time and playing in big games then you'll get noticed soon enough. try joining a team outside of school as well so you'll have more chance of gettin noticed by a scout.
