Re: Help??

well to be honest with you I never did a dedication ritual and I don't believe they have to be done. I just pledged myself and started learning more. Thats really all you have to do. Your a witch in my opinion as soon as you pledge yourself to the craft. Thats my view.

Re: Help??

So the question here is...that you WANT to do some kind of a dedication ritual, but you aren't sure what to do?

As a traditionalist I am not down with self-initiation, but self-dedication is more than fine. Truly, to be Wiccan is a matter of how you live your life and how you see the world. A dedication ritual is a voluntary point wherein you declare in a ceremonial way to yourself and the gods that you are going to study as much as you can and follow the tenets of this faith, and that you believe. You can probably find some examples of dedications online to help inspire your personal ritual, or you can do it improv, just what inspires you in the moment.

I recommend having a self-purification part of the ritual, a declaration, a meditation, and some kind of sacrifice (like incense or food or something). You are leaving one phase of life behind, starting a new defined phase both physically and spiritually/mentally, and it's going to require changes/sacrifices on your part.

Good luck.
