Re: Out of the Broomcloset or In ?
I'm somewhat out. I've told my mom, stepdad and close friends and their really supportive . My mom is even going to start taking me to this nearby Pagan church. But I haven't told my dad or anyone on that side of the family yet. They are religious christians and I don't think they would understand.

Re: Out of the Broomcloset or In ?
i love the bunnies!!! I have one book, but i bought that in secret. I live with my grandparents, and they would disown me if they found out that i'm even interested. My grandma found my stash of candle's the other day, boy was that hard to explain.... I cant have an altar,so my altar is temporary, i only set it up when i'm going to use it. My athame....hmm, some would find it quite funny, but i made my athame. I took a holly branch, and carved it into a handle, and rubbed another stick against it to make it nice and shiny, the i took an old knife that we had (it had a pretty nice blade though) and i put it on my handle(that was not an easy task) I bury it when its not in use in a steel box out in my backyard, they would send me to counseling again if they ever found my athame, so i have to keep it hidden.I feel bad that i cant tell them about it, but it just doesnt feel right yet, oh, and by the way, where do you guys get your jewelry? I have been looking for a feminine pentacle necklace, they are so hard to find!! If you answer please dont tell me a website, because i cant order it, i would have to go to a store to get it, thanks!!

Re: Out of the Broomcloset or In ?
ummm, seriously if you are going as far as buring things in your yard to hide your tools then you need to do some thinking about maybe waiting on actual practice until you`re on your own and maybe just doing things like mediataion and whatnot where you wont need tools. think about it, i mean if you cant practice then that wont change your beliefs, but burying things to hide it? seems pretty rediculus to me.

Re: Out of the Broomcloset or In ?
I don't think "ridiculous" is quite fair, or the word for it. Maybe "worrisome" or "unncessary." Burying things to hide them is one way to do it, especially when you don't want people to just stumble across them. Digging requires work. However, to feel you have to go to such an extreme is what's not quite-so-good. Understandably you want to practice your faith, and your guardians would make it a living hell for you if they found out, so you need to hide it, but the possible consequences aren't, IMO, worth it when you can practice and believe without any tools or supplies. You might want to read my first essay on my website which touches on this issue. Good luck.

Re: Out of the Broomcloset or In ?
i know it seems silly, but the athame is the only thing that i hide, i mean what would your parents think if they found a huge knife in your bedroom? I dont try THAT hard to hide everything else.

Re: Out of the Broomcloset or In ?
I dont have to hide the fact that Im Wiccan and even when I was a teenager I didnt have to hide it. My family knows about all my tools and they dont care or understand what they`re used for lol
