Re: Out of the Broomcloset or In ?
Well, I didn't confront her. But I trust that she has a brain and can see from my reaction that I didn't like it at all. Do you guys think I should confromt her? I find it unnecesary to do that which is understood.

Re: Out of the Broomcloset or In ?
i dont know if confronting her will do any good. i mean you cant talk to her and then make everyone forget what she said, can you? personally I dont care if people know im wiccan. i dont go out and throw it in peoples` faces but if people ask me ill tell them my religion. remember the middle pillar, no need to be extreme in either direction. no need to throw your beliefs at people for attention and no need to hide it from the world.

Re: Out of the Broomcloset or In ?
I Only wish i had it as easily as some of the people here, that can just confess to thier parents what they are, and the parents be supportive. My mom is a super christian. My dad isn`t really religious, but he believes in god. if i told my mom what i have been doing, she would probably already mail my invitation to "hell" right there. A couple of my friends know, but none of my family. It sucks really badly having to play the part of devoted christian teen with my mom. Butm i guess i`ll have to deal, right?. :-)

Re: Out of the Broomcloset or In ?
I like to keep this policy:
If someone asks me my religion or if the topic of religion arises, I say that I'm Wiccan and answer as many of the questions they ask as I can.
So far, I have told my mother (who didn't even know what Wicca was at that point), my best friend Tear, and some people in my class. Of course, anyone with ample information can assume that I am a witch, due to the fact that I try to always wear a pentagram around my neck. And I don't mind that factor, because it increases my chances of being detected by other Wiccans, as has happened on three separate occasions.
When I tell someone about my being Wiccan, I feel liberated, like my heart is lighter and fuller. I don't know. But it feels good.
It all depends on your situation, whether you should come out of the closet or not. If you can, like your parents arent psycho-religious or anything, but you are afraid, tell them and don't be scared. If your parents are understanding, they mostlikely be supportive of you and your decision. Mine were.
But if your parents DO happen to be extremely emphatic about their non-pagan religion, perhaps the best choice is to remain inside the broomcloset, however painfull it may be, until you are in a position where you need not fear coming out.
The decision remains yours.

Re: Out of the Broomcloset or In ?
I would say I'm a little out and a little in. I just started on the Wiccan path, but I know and can tell this is the path I want.
I've only told a few people about my choice, a few people have asked when they see me reading books and I answer them honestly. The only people I really haven't told are my parents because they are extremely close-minded.
I know I'll tell them, but just not right now.

Re: Out of the Broomcloset or In ?
Right now the only people who know are my best friend and my dad. One day I had Spellcraft For Teens and a couple of books about Wicca that I had got from my library out and I was reading them and my dad saw them. He jokingly asked my if I was going to become a witch and I told him about my interest in it and some of the history of witchcraft and how its not bad and Wiccans don't worship the devil. My dad didn't seem to have a problem with me being interested in it, he just jokingly said "I guess we'll know if your a witch if people try to burn you at the stake." lol

Re: Out of the Broomcloset or In ?
lol yeah my dad always makes jokes like that. Just the other day I was looking through my kitchen cabinet to see what herbs we had that I could use in spells and my mom saw me. She doesn't know that I'm interested in Wicca so she asked me what I was doing and my dad joked: "she's going to mix potions later on."
