Scrying
I' not sure if i should put this here or somewhere else, but I kind of had a question about scrying.
As in...how does it work? I'm interested in trying it out, but I haven't really been able to find any suitable info about it.
What works best? Fire, bowl, or mirror? How do you do it? How do you know it's not just your mind palying tricks on you? Should you meditate first?
Honestly, I'm almost clueless about this subject (really, the only info i've come across on this subject is just very vague commen sense a-three-year-old-would-know-that sort of stuff), but it's something i would still very much like to learn more about so that i can try it.
so, could someone fill me in? or give me some good links?
Thanks.

Re: Scrying
hi,
ive only used a black mirror for scrying and its not the easiest form of divination. what you would do is set up a candle behind the mirror so you can see the frame and the blackness in front of you. you would try to look past the black and stay focused. as you focus you`ll see glimpes of images. i never really saw them in the mirror itself. if the images were really in front of me they would be an inch or two off the mirror, hard to explain lol if you search the divination section you can find a post i made about how to make a black mirror.

Re: Scrying
Ann Moura defines divination as such: "Direct communication with the Divine". I really like this definition. It is my belief that scrying works by tapping into your subconscious and "remotely" communing with the Divine about a particular subject (you know, looking into the future, past, present, etc) and they relay the messages (be it images, words, or even in movie format) to you subconscious which then displays it through the mirror, or crystal, or pool of water, or whatever scrying tool is used. Its really hard to explain how a lot of things we Wiccans do works, but we know that it works, so praise be to the Goddess.

Re: Scrying
Scrying into a black bowl or black mirror is a very good idea. I usually lie down in bed, listen to meditative music, close my eyes, and watch what I see in the darkness. Objects or scenes that repeat are very significant and should be looked further into.
