which deck?
I always had been intrested in tarot cards. My friend, who bought and never used hers, gave hers mine but it's an Aleister Crowley deck, which i had read was a tough deck to start out with.
Which deck do you suggest a beginner to use?

Re: which deck?
hi,
the easiest deck to use, and also most common, is the rider-waite deck. you dont have to start with this deck and you could stick with Crowley`s Thoth deck. whatever deck you use you`ll have to take some time to learn the symbols used. rider-waite is good if you want something more "traditional", Crowley`s Thoth deck is good if you are into ceremonial magic (especially Thelema), there are also an array of pagan friendly decks out there. just find one that you are comfortable with and use that one.

Re: which deck?
I don't know if you could actually consider them tarot cards, but I use a deck of Amy Brown's Faery Wisdom Cards. They are very straight forward and even come with an instruction book. As an added bonus, the cards have beautiful paintings on them and they pertain to everyday situations.
I find them very accurate as long as you are the only one 'filling the cards with your energy' and using them. It is okay to read the cards for other people, but I havent found it to be as accurate.
I havent used actual Tarot cards yet, but I think I might, someday, get my own deck.

Re: which deck?
Oh yea, I had those cards once and I loved them. But I lost them and couldn't find them in the stores anymore...

Re: which deck?
For most of my readings, I've used the Rider-Waite deck. I have a few others, mostly out of interest though. The Gilded Tarot deck is beautiful to look at, but a tad too abstract. I don't get the same feel of certainty with that deck. I have the Dragon Tarot, which was my initial interest and is still one of my faves, but the interpretaions are different, and I've yet to master those. Finally, I have the Egyptian Tarot deck, but I have not even begun to understand it's interpretations.

Re: which deck?
For beginners, I highly recommend the Druid Craft Tarot. The cards are on the large side, the pictures are clear and easy to inspect. I find the imagery to be very straightforward, and a bonus to anyone who loves Celtic imagery (though it's not a prerequisite). Tarot of the Old Path is also very easy to understand, while giving a nice bit of variety from the ole' Rider-Waite. (I find the pictures to be a bit sterile in that deck.)

Re: which deck?
I searched for the deck that spoke to me the most. I rely more on intuition now than ever. I ended up finding an awesome deck that I love. It was difficult at first, but the images are gorgeous and I love using them.

Re: which deck?
good after you learn the meaning of the cards you can then move on to adding in astology and qabalah aspects to the cards

What deck did you finally settle on, theforestwhispers? Can you post any pics of the cards?
