Starting Tarot Cards!
Hi Guys,
For many years i've been interested in tarot. I would pick it up for a few weeks then get fustrated and drop my study.
However, just recently i've had a hunger for it. I am more excited than ever to learn all that it has to offer.
I would love to make this section of the message board more active again.
So lets start . . .
Have you been studing tarot cards?

have you been studying tarot cards? yes i have.
if so for how long? i started long before i got into the witchcraft, about 6 years.
which deck do you use? i have one tarot deck and a not-tarot deck i use. my tarot deck is the Halloween Deck by Kipling West. the non-tarot deck is Flower Speaks by Marlene Rudginsky. i also have the Vampire Deck by Natalie Hertz.
why did you choose this particular deck? my first deck was an easy ready deck with the meaning of the card written on the cards. it also was just ugly and didn’t do anything for me. i was looking at the website www.aeclectic.net/tarot. there i found the Halloween deck. i LOVE Halloween and the deck was just screamed me. it’s very cute and funny; the devil wears a blue dress.
the Flower Speak deck was used on me when i got my cards read at Universal Studios. they are very pretty. they have a Major Arcana but then have 4 cards for each element and then 5 energy cards. they seem to read better about relationships.
the Vampire Deck was just because the Major Arcana is so cool. lots of fangs and biting and blood (i have a thing for vampires). i used the Major Arcana for light readings at a hunted house one Halloween. they scared people.

Thanks for your answers. Its great to hear that a deck "called to you." Its pretty cool when that happens.
You don't find that odd colors stand out and are distracting at all?

I've seen that deck before and I thought it was pretty cool looking
as for me I dabble in different tarot cards, ever since I started a year ago.
technically I've studied tarot for about 9 months because I stopped for awhile
I've been through different decks, trying to find which one was perfect for me. The ones I stuck with for awhile was The Rider/Waite, because it was easy to use as a novice and Thoth because it challenged me more to interprete the meaning (boy was that an adventure...). I chose Thoth also because of it being after a fav Egyptian god of mine.
So I've been using Thoth for about 4 months now and recently started looking into playing cards, which is intresting interpreting it.
