Melee Support Rit
Rt/Mo
Resto 12+1
Channel 12+3
Protection Prayers 3
Ghostforge Armor and +5 Armor staff for 80AL
Skills:
OAOj8MhsIPezNm0cydTwYlzjLA
Ancestor's Rage
Nightmare Weapon
Mend Body and Soul
Spirit Light
Draw Conditions
Splinter Weapon
Bloodsong
Offering of Spirit [E]
Pretty much straight forward Melee support for the first 4 skills, Splinter Weapon is mainly used for the 15 armor bonus, but can be used offensively in some situations. Bloodsong provides damage and meets the requirement of Spirit Light and Offering of Spirit.
I believe this and a Warrior would work well to split off on a gank and still leave the main group in good shape for both offense and defense.
This would also give us better options for 4-4 and 5-3 splits I believe.
I really think the additional healing is needed in our group for when the monks are under heavy pressure. A lot of times Keith and I are too busy keeping each other alive to heal anyone else and this build could heal from the mid line with better armor and likely less pressure than a monk would face.
Updated 8-8-07:
Monk Secondary with Draw Conditions.

Re: Melee Support Rit
Another option is to drop the Rez Sig and go Rt/Sin and bring Dash for a speed boost.
Or Ranger for Storm's Embrace.

Re: Melee Support Rit
I"m intrigued more and more by Storm's Embrace. I mean, we all read that State of the Game article Boss Man posted right? About W/Es because of Warriors becoming the main Damage output, and their relative weakness against Elements.
I know when I PvP I keep seeing damned Axe warriors coming after me with Conjure Frost usually and Frost Armor (Ha, teach them, I'm Rangering anyways! Not warrioring or SFing!)
So yeah. I can see Storm's Embrace being more useful than Dash, at least because it can pull double duty with the energy gain.

Re: Melee Support Rit
Question about Nightmare Weapon.
I wonder if it triggers even if you miss or are blocked?
Wiki says you still steal the full amount even if you do zero damage. But I'd like to know if it triggers on the attack action, or just a hit?
Something worth testing...

Re: Melee Support Rit
Triggers on hit only. But it only counts on hits as well. So if you miss 3 attacks and then hit the next three the lifesteal will apply to the last 3 hits.

Re: Melee Support Rit
Yes, I have seen that it only triggers when you actually hit. Rather nice feature of the skill I think.

Re: Melee Support Rit
I was thinking it would be nice the other way, so you could still get damage through blocking enchantments.
but oh well...

Re: Melee Support Rit
It would be nice to hit through the block, but I also like the surprise on a character running Stoneflesh when they are still taking damage from my attacks.

Re: Melee Support Rit
I updated the main build with Monk Secondary and Draw Conditions. Should work well with the RC monk.

Re: Melee Support Rit
Problem with Draw is you miss spreading the big heal around the rest of the group. It would be great for use with SF nuker or something else but this will eliminate the direct heal of 300+ points for someone with 4 or 5 conditions on them. Need to be careful and not draw conditions off of someone that has little or no health left.
Edit: so if conditions are stacked on a couple of players don't draw if everyone is burning from SF then use draw / mend body and soul.
