How to Become a Hero
So... You want to become a Hero, eh? Or maybe you fall more comfortably into the Etc... category? OK, here's how it works.
See, we're a bit protective of our guild, being as how there is a limit of only 100 members at the current time. What does this mean? How does this fit within our open-minded philosophy and generally accepting nature, you ask?
We hope for all of our members to understand and believe in the principals set forth in our Guild Philosophy. If you haven't read it, take a few minutes to do so now. Read Me!
Done? Good. Since you are back here and reading this post again, I guess you think it's a good match, you and Heroes Etc... So go ahead and register for the boards. Until we have activated your account (more on that below) you won't be able to log in, but you can post here in the public section as a guest.
So... take a gander at the posts directly below this one. You see them? Good. Read through the questions posed in the first one, and post your answers in the second one.
Our officers will review your post, and make a determination if your answers indicate that you might be a good fit for the guild. From that point, we will activate your account to the boards, and you will be able to read all posts, and post your own. We highly encourage prospective members who have had their accounts activated to be active on the boards. It helps in the getting to know you process, both for us to get to know you better, and you to get to know the guild and how we tend to look at things. This will only help us both make a better deciison regarding membership.
Great! So now you've registered to the boards, your account has been activated, and you've gotten to know everyone and decided this is THE PLACE for you. What's next?
That part's simple. We get together in-game, party up with some of the officers, and make sure we are a good fit. It wouldn't be such a great idea to make a commitment to a guild, or us to a member, only to find out that we just don't enjoy the same things about the game, now - would it? So this is the last opportunity to make sure that we share some of the same ideas about how things should be.
Now this isn't to say that we want a guild full of folks who think exactly the same way. That wouldn't be much fun. But we do have certain goals and ideals that we all share. If you share in these same thoughts, then you too can be... A Hero!
