Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
Well, it's free, made by the fellas who put Battlenet together, and it's modeled a little after Counterstrike. Those elements together have really grabbed my interest. I'm a big counterstrike fan and I used to play Diablo2 like none other. I think PvP and PvE are both fun, although PvP is the one ingredient that can always keep you on your toes (a great element to have in any game is competition). This looks like a game I will be sticking with for quite a while.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ? Yes. I have had a few experiences with guilds/clans. In Counterstrike, I was in a clan that I stuck with for almost 2 years. We were able to hold LAN parties and we had people flying in from all over the country (U.S.) to gather around and have "a few beers." It was extremely fun and the only reason I left the clan was because the lives of the leaders had changed and the entire clan's philosophy was different. It's difficult to explain, but there just seemed to be a lot of bickering on the forums and that's something I don't wish to be a part of. I'm just here to have fun.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
Heroes, Etc. -- Although I am unaware of how large this guild is at the moment, I think you all have a great basis for a truly rewarding experience. I think it's important to screen members in order to filter some of the immaturities the internet seems to always carry. Aside from this, I see your guild as being an honorable one. In the future of Guild Wars, there will probably be cheat programs or scams, and I would like to know that everyone in my guild is above that. I personally view cheating of any kind as a complete waste of time. If I play to see how good I can be, why would I use a program to beat someone? I have never understood it, and I hope the guild I join has the same feelings about it.
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
I have been reading up on Guild Wars for the past few weeks, and I am extremely excited about the BWE coming up in April. I am probably going to take a vacation day that Friday so I can play the entire weekend and learn as much as I can about the game. While reading up on the game, I came across a few web sites that list guilds and a brief description. I saw your guild on GuildwarsGuru.com and felt a slight connection with the writer. I can appreciate when I see someone who knows how to communicate on the internet, as that is something that is rare nowadays.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little? I will go so far as to say I am willing to handle a lot of responsibility. I have been looking for a game like this, which truly captures my attention. This game will certainly get a lot of my attention and effort.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
I am currently living in DC, which puts me in Eastern Time Zone (Stating the obvious, just in case). I will typically be playing this game during the week from 4pm-10pm, and I will most likely play all weekends.
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
My thoughts have been on a wide variety of characters. It really just depends on how the skills are in the guild. For PvE, I currently plan on using a War/Nec, and I will certainly be making a Monk later as well (unsure of the subclass). I see the Monk as being a very critical piece for PvP for obvious reasons. To be honest, I plan on learning all classes so I can get a feel for their strengths and weaknesses. Know thine enemy.
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation? To be honest, it depends on my status in the guild. If some random guy comes up and moons the guild leader, I'm not going to tell the guild leader what to do if I'm the peon. It's just not my place. However, if I were mooned in the game, I probably wouldn't think much of it. It's a video game... we're going to run into immature people. That's a given. hehe. I just typically don't worry about that.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p ) For the BWE, I will try to get a name with Possum in it. Perhaps something with Marsupial would work as well. My understanding is that I need a first name and last name, so I'll probably grab myself a last name that I can apply to all of my other char names.
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
I don't post anywhere else.
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
It depends on how important the guild's ladder position is to the guild. If it's important to the guild, it will be important to me. I'm a competitive person by nature, so I wouldn't mind seeing some really good efforts made to rock a few guilds.
Thanks for your time, fellas. Hopefully this will suffice until the BWE next weekend. Now, please keep in mind that I will be a complete newb when it comes to Guild Wars for at least the first weekend. I have a lot of counterstrike experience and a lot of Everquest 2 experience, but I won't assume that experience will keep me from looking retarded or asking stupid questions. hehe. Take it easy.

and for my answers:
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it? Skipping the obvious (no susbscription fee etc..) This game will allow me to have fun when time allows me to. Since lvl'ng up is not a requirement, but skill/tactic is. This game seems to be a great match for my lifestyle. This is just about the only MMO I would be able to play without spending a great deal of time in while still playing with new friends and experiencing new adventures.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? I've been in more Clans then Guilds, but I'm not completely new to MMORPGS. I was part of a guild in Helbreath and Star Wars Galaxies. I've
enjoyed the team work involved, but we never seemed to take it to seriously. I played with people whose main concern was fun, what came along with that was accomplishment, comrodary, many laughs and adventures.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific. After taking another look, I really cant find anything I dislike, all that you have covered I find very fitting. This is the guild I've wanted to create, but with lack of time and recources would not try. I'd rather contribute.
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc ) The post you made in the Guild Wars Stratics Forum.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little? I would love to handle a lot, I like helping out other players and setting things up for the guild. But as I've stated before I have limited time. So I beleive an average amount would suit me best.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc ) I will be in -8 PST for the next 2 years (that I know of ) in Caliifornia. As for hours, it might be a little random. Training and work hours are not always clear. But for now, 5-7 p.m. and on most weekends. I plan on playing as much as possible. (I'm in the Military).
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ? Right now I have plans for a Pure Warrior, no side proffession/class. My second charactor will be a Warrior/monk. My 3rd will be a more supportive role like a mesmer. I have the names worked already and am working on the bio's. I like to RP.
I'm leaving my 4th slot free for when I have more experience with the game.
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation? It really depends on who it was of course, if another guild member was the attacker I would try and calm both people down, and work the problem out before it got worse, then ask them to refrain from the action while advising the other to ignore the attacker and take action with one of the officers of the guild if they cant resolve the issue with that person. (I would log the convorsation also). If its some random person, I would most likley ignore the person and advice others im with to do the same. I hate to waste time on ignorance.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p ) I will be using this name, with a last name Wink (still in the making)
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only ) I have not reg. with any other forums yet. But I will be using this one if possible.
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you? Its niether on the bottom of my list or the top, but if it becomes the goal or is the goal of the guild to reach a higher standing as a team I will participate with the best intentions. My main focus is fun and adventure for everyone. Fame falls into that puzzle but is not the only peice.

Re: Post your answers here.
Hello All... here are the answers to your questions...
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
The attraction would be that it is not just looking for hardcore gamers, but casual as well. As I play WoW and will be playing this game also and only play three nights a week.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
I am currently in my first guild in WoW and have only been in it about a week. The things I like is that everyone is willing to help everyone with anything regardless of experience.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
I love the casual gamer aspect of this guild. I love that the guild will not concentrate on one area of the game(PVP, etc) but all aspects. It is also good that the guild does not care if you specialize in one area or another.
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
Recruitment forums
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
I would like to start with little responsibility and work my way up as I become more competent in the Guild Wars environment.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
I will be swapping between WoW and GuildWars. I tend to game 3 nights a week from 9pm EST - 12 EST or later. I currently reside in Michigan, US.
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
Do not have a clue yet as I have not been entered the Guild Wars world yet. Any suggestion on what makes the best Tank would be appreciated.
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
First I would interject and try to diffuse the situation. I would then take the information of characters involve, time & date and report it up the chain of command of the Guild.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
Should not be... Will not know until I create my character though
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
Perrin1976
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
Not very important. As long as quests, etc are being accomplished by all then I am happy.
Thanks for your time in reviewing this application and I hope to hear from u soon.

Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
I was first attracted to guild wars by the fact that it is a free mmorpg. As i looked more into it I found that it looks like a pretty sweet overall game. graphics are really nice, gameplay seems cool (although i have not yet tried it) just everythign about this game seems really fun.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
Yes I have been in other guilds in games such as Diablo2. And many clans in fps games. I am not currently in any clans or guilds. What I disliked was the fact that all my guilds and clans were way to competitive, I am more of a laid back player but I do enjoy some good ol' PvP on occasion!
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
I like the philosophy very much. It matched my feelings exactly. I like that you guys dont plan on beeing super competitive to start out with and that you will let players that are more into the PvE aspect in as well.
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
I heard about you from someone signature in the guildwarsguru.com forums
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
I am willing to handle alot of responsibility, but it depends on what kind. I can set up a website and forums and keep them up and running, thats no problem. but i dont know a whole lot about being a guild leader or whatever.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
I am in canada so i am -5 hours. I plan on playing quite frequently but mostly on weekends.I will be playing later on at night mostly
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
I will be a Ranger/Necro because I like both their styles and they complement each other nicely for PvP
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
It depends whether or not I thought the guild member could handle it. But in all cases I would come to the guild members defense unless he did something to provoke the verbal onslaught or any other form of inapropriate behaviour
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
I plan on using the name on the boards (unless it is taken :S)
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
On the guildwarsguru.com website i go under the name Caco_Daemon
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
It is not all that important to me. I mean i would like the guild to do well, but I want it to be fun aswell, not all out competitive guild wars all the time

Re: Post your answers here.
Hi there, sorry my answers may differ slightly from the original ones on the other board, but I had not saved them and when I went back to retrieve them they had already been deleted, so I had to re-answer the questions.
1.What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
Of course probably like most the lack of monthly fees, but I also like the fact that GW is geared towards skill and abilities rather than levelling and time played. The graphics and game play itself are also things that I’ve found to be nice and fun.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
No, this would be my first time in a guild.
3. What about HeEt attracted you to applying for membership, and why would you like to join our guild?
The main reason is the guild’s philosophy which happens to fit my gaming style, as for personal reason for looking for a guild, it’s mostly because I would like to have a friendly community to play and enjoy the game with.
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
I saw you recruitment thread on The Guild Hall, several weeks ago.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
Not sure what you mean here, for now I’ll just say probably an average amount.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
Well I’m a casual player so I’ll probably be playing around 10 hours a week, 2 or 3 nights a week for a couple of hours per period and the rest of my time should be during weekends. The time periods should be mostly around 8-9pm East during weeknights, on the weekends it’s harder to say.
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
I’ve played a ranger prime and a monk prime up to now and have enjoyed them, the ranger I like because of its long range capacities and also enjoy the traps and nature rituals. Monk wise I’m not sure yet if I like it or not, being the first targeted every time is a bit hard to deal with considering my little experience.
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
I usually prefer to stay out of these situations, but if need I guess asking the person to behave would be appropriate, if the situation persist I don’t see anything else but to bring this to the attention of an officer and let him or them deal accordingly with the problem.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
In game my character name is Krawl Away (don’t ask), this is my ranger prime. Regarding my monk character I’ve been deleting and playing around so much with characters last beta that the full name escapes at this time, I will post it as soon as I make in the game this beta.
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
I’ve have not registered for any others board yet, I do now and then lurk and read the boards for learning purposes, answering and posting on them is not something I’ve done. I’m more inclined on smaller more personal communities, I find these large fan sites to be too much the opposite.
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
Not important at all, as long as we are having fun winning or loosing I’ll be a happy camper. For me how we paly and intereact is more important than ranking or final end results.
Thank you for considering my application in your guild.

Re: Post your answers here.
Hopefully I am not too late since I missed grouping with you guys last BWE.
Here are the answers to your questions:
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
I actually stumbled across Guild Wars while searching for a game to replace the other MMOGs I had been playing. I participated in the last BWE and basically fell in love with the game, it made for a long weekend (and an unhappy girlfriend). I have to say that my favorite aspect of Guild Wars is the grouping. I enjoy grouping over soloing, especially in PVP. I also enjoyed the flow of the combat in this game. Add to all these, the fact that grinding is not a necessity and I am hooked.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now? Explain what you liked and disliked about it.
I have been involved in two guilds: Star Wars Galaxies = BIG, and Everquest =Lone Wolves of Norrath. I had a great time in Star Wars with my guild (PA), in fact I found the game quite dreadful but the PA kept me involved. I enjoy the team, and community aspect of guilds. I enjoy logging on knowing I will find a group to adventure with.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike?
I completely agree with the HeEt philosophy. I spent all weekend turning down invitations to join guilds until I could find the right one for me. Then I spent the beginning of the week researching forums in an effort to locate my Guild Wars home. I am looking for a guild more interested in maintaining a good community than climbing the guild ladder, while not neglecting PVP altogether.
4. Where did you hear about us?
I found your information on guildwarsguru.com and liked what I saw.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle?
I have to watch myself on this question, unfortunately real life issues have to take a priority for me. I have a live in girlfriend, and two little girls. I also attend college two nights a week and play guitar, all this on top of a full time job. That being said, I have more time to play than it seems and am willing to take on as much responsibility as I can. I guess that would put me in the average to little category for the time being. This summer I should be able to take on more responsibility if the need arises.
6. How much do you plan on playing?
I live in Nevada, Pacific Time zone. I usually play 2-3 hours on weeknights 7-9 or 10 PST. (Class on Tuesday and Wednesday nights). I usually have plenty of time to play on the weekends depending on real life stuff. Usually I can be found off and on during the weekends from 9 am – 11 pm.
7. What type of character do you plan on playing?
For the last BWE, I was playing and enjoying the following:
Bayliss Bellicus – Warrior Monk
Stearn Trailborne - Ranger Warrior
Zann Van Zatt - Elementalist Mesmer
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbally assaulted or any inappropriate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
It would depend on the severity of the abuse, if the offence was severe I would recommend the ignore button to the guild member (if severe enough I would report the offender, if it is even possible). If the offender was in a guild I would note the guild name, incase they need a good old fashioned beat down. If two guild members were playfully messing around, I wouldn’t do anything except possibly join in.
9. If you use another name besides the one you registered with, what name will that be?
Stearn Trailborne, and Zann Van Zatt.
10. If you post on any other message boards related to Guild Wars, what name do you use?
I haven’t posted on any boards, just a lot of reading. If I do post it would be under the name Bayliss.
11. How important is the Guild’s Ladder position to you?
The ladder position isn’t very important to me. I am looking forward to participating in PVP, but no tears will be shed if my guild never breaks the top 10 mark (or top 500 for that matter).
A little long winded but there it is. Hope to see you guys in game.
--- Bayliss Bellicus - R/War
Sayliss Bellicus - El/Mes
Stearn Battleborn -War/Mo

Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
The fact that it is free was a big factor, and once I got the chance to play a beta weekend and saw the incredible graphics and the “feeling’ of the game and the players I was hooked. I have played Diablo2, NWN and Dungeon Siege as well as beta tested Earth and Beyond, and they are Mickey Mouse compared to this game. I love that the game won’t be all about levelling, and that I can continue to play even if I haven’t been able to buy the latest Chapter.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
I was briefly in another Guild on the last BWE but I didn’t feel it was the Guild for me.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
Where do I start? I like the philosophy. I like that, from what I have seen and heard, the Guild members seem to be intelligent and mature and seem tolerant of the more casual gamer who really wants to savour the experience of Guild Wars and who also may have some time restrictions.
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
I heard about you from Valykar on the Guild wars boards. He messaged me and suggested that this might be the type of Guild I would be comfortable being a part of.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
In light of my time restrictions I would say about average. I like helping out new people in the game and generally doing things at an enjoyable pace.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
I am on the West Coast of BC Canada (left foot in the ocean) and I tend to be on and off the computer all day from about 9 in the morning until 3-5 in the afternoon except for days with appointments or the dreaded trips to town to get groceries. I expect in the beginning I will play the heck out of the game, then I will taper to several hours a week (5-6) However I will not be able to play much from the end of this month until my father is off crutches, as I will be spending most of that period of time computerless (sob!) at his home.
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
I love my Ranger/Monk but I want to try all combinations so I will probably be starting 4 totally different characters only to suddenly delete one and switch it’s profession. I want to experience everything.
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assaulted or any inappropriate behaviour in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
Well, you didn’t specify a situation.
In town I would point out the option to jump districts or use the lovely “Block/ignore” feature.
If the abuse is severe, I would try to diffuse the situation then report the abuser. I would then make sure Guild brother/sister was alright.
In a PvP or GvG situation I hear it can get pretty bad and you are stuck there till the match is over. I would try to calm things down…turn it around to humor somehow or just be supportive of the person being the target of abuse. I would then throw every spell I had at the abuser (LOL!)
In a PvE team situation I would try to get the abuser to settle down and if the abuse stems from an objection to an action (say use of a particular skill) by my Guild brother/sister, I would ask him/her to explain the reasoning behind that action. If the abuse continues, I would suggest that perhaps the team might be happier with different members and suggest we orb to town and disband to find more suitable teams on which to play.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
Kaiwyn Briarthorne
Kaiwyn Frostfire
Naima Briarthorne (Kaiwyn’s little sister…lol!)
Naima Windbourne
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
Kaiwyn
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
Not very unless the Guild decides it wishes to advance it’s position. I would then support the Guild members.

Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
I was attracted because I had previous experience with blizzard and had enjoyed their other titles. I mostly like the social and varied concepts of the game, I least like that at the moment the only trading I have seen is constant trade spams but until release it is hard to say.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
No not really
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
To be brief, I work I have kids though I am an avid gamer, I want to be able to play with a good online community and help when I can, Your philosophy seems to embrace respect for others and not a bunch of leet speaking juvenilles speaking to everyone like 3yr olds and demanding 60 hours per week playtime. I also sometimes just like to play without someone constantly messaging me for assistance or items ( which can happen in guilds with too many small children, lol I know I have some).
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
I was invited by an officer here.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
I can handle a decent amount of responsibility, time is more my thing, I may have 40 plus 1 week and the next just a few at weekends and the oddd evening.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
Mountain time so gmt-7, I intend playing at least a few evenings a week 2-4 hours to begin with and if I said 10 total at weekends to be safe.
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
I plan on doing many combinations over time but to begin with an elementalist, I like nuking in team play. after that maybe a mesmer as I think they could be very interesting.
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assaulted or any inappropriate behaviour in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
I would probably jump in with my diplomacy or sarcasm depending on the situation. I have 4 kids 3 of which are teens and own my own corporation with approx 175 employees so I know I am equipped to assist ( as I probably have had to deal with most situations) in an adult manner though I am highly sarcastic and can have a caustic sense of humor with moronic insulting individuals.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
Macron Darkblade
I would inform you as I made more
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
Macron
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
Not super important though any guild I join I would like to get together a decent pvp team so we can improve our standings without being obsessed with it and also to train new members if they are interested. Making it fun for all that want to try it is more important than the actual position. That said I would not want any individual to purposely damage the guilds standings by taking on good teams with henchies and not discussing it with other members first, just because thats kind of disrespectful of others in your group.

Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
I've known about GW for quite some time, and am very happy that it is absolutely shaping up to be the game I was hoping it would be (I'm seriously addicted...)
I'll tell you guys the hows and why's in private
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
I have been in many. My girlfriend (Coda Paradox) and I were co-monarchs of a guild in Asheron's call, Were founders of the Discordian Society in City of Heros, were in a great guild in Dark Age of Camelot (MLF server, as members, quite happily to a wonderful leader), were briefly in a guild in EQ2. I loved the sense of family, loved being able to help out friends and in Dark Age, loved hitting the battlefield with my guild.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
I was wow'ed by the premise (very eloquently stated ) and there was a great moment of clarity when I realized that I too could be a hero. Or maybe the et cetera part. I may be an et cetera, but being a hero is pretty darn cool too and I do my best to do that one. Oh nevermind. I'll be a hero when needed and an et cetera on weekends
(I hope you are catching my humor )
All kidding aside, I loved your philosophies and immediately said "Gah, the dog is standing on my foot!" After removing the dog, I realized that you "got it." You know exactly what I mean, because let's face it, you "get it." You know, the whole game thing. The whole guild thing. Finally someone else "gets it!" The fact that you "get it" means I want to show you I "get it" and we can have a ton of fun!
Besides, despite my jovial nature, I am actually somewhat (*gasp* by somewhat I mean, man, I am old!) mature and prefer a bit of maturity in the guild I join. Both your writings and those of the prospective candidates verified that one for me.
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
From the Guild Hall. Actually from my girlfriend reading the majority of your site to me while I crafted in EQ2. She was jazzed by your philosophy, as well as by the post of prospective guildies. I got jazzed, I registered, I'm posting. Hopefully she will post soon too..
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
Average. As with a lot of the replies I've seen, I too have a busy job, but, I tend to gravitate towards my gaming. I am the type of person who is always available to help the guild when logged in. When not, I am on msn during the day, and if not in a meeting or slammed, I can sometimes log in from my office (sometimes..) for stuff like item transfers, etc.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
Every day for as many hours as I can keep my eyes open (I'm a bit on the hardcore side) which is usually 4 to 5 hours on weeknights, lots on weekends. My girlfriend and I are PST (GMT -8) here in the Pacific Northwest, USA.
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
I have 4 builds that I have spent several sleepless (I'm not joking) BWE's perfecting, all of which make me very happy.
a. Me/N - Dreamless Sleep, this is my shutter down of Monks, griefer of tanks. Most likely going to be my main. As soon as I got past the Mesmer learning curve, I was in love. Any character that gently assists a foe in dismantling themselves suits my play style just fine...
b. Mo/E - Celestial Storm, Healing Monk with mist form. Gotta love Water spec Elemental Backend with a Monk. All the tank of a tank, all the happy warm fuzzies of a monk.
c. W/R - Kitty Carryall, proof positive that W/R's can kick serious booty She was unstoppable at the tombs and a blast to play.
d. N/W - Death Murmur, He's big, he's freaky, and he is a bloodsucking Ginsu wielding fiend. I love this build for the sheer intimidation factor (The Misfits Devil Locke is a nice touch too )
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
I never see my own name when playing a game if there is a guild tag under or next to it. I am a representative of my guild, and any damage done by me is reflected on my guild. Therefore, if this person is breaking the games TOC or ROC I utilize the proper mechanisms and report him. If they are just being a jerk, I do my best to assure my guildmate that we are above that sort of thing and try and privately say something really witless and stupid (yet somewhat feebly funny) to try and make them smile while we blatantly avoid and ignore the gimboid. Human beings are responsible for some of the most annoying atrocities in MMP's but better humans are capable of making them good.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
See #7 above. I'm pretty sure I saved all of em, if not, I'll repost here with the new ones.
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
vn: vn_OniNeko
Guild_Hall: DreamlessSleep
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
Well, It's a number. Would I get mad or leave if we weren't number 1? Nope. I would blame Sony online or Blizzard (oops, wrong game). Seriously though, The main reason I like your guild is the fact that you aren't prescribing certain builds and forcing members to play them. You aren't making GW a second job for anyone.
Do I want to win? Of course, and I defy anyone to say "I'd rather lose." I would, however, lose unconditionally every time I fought if it meant I got to have fun with kindred spirits with a great sense of humor and adventure. Winning happens. Losing happens. It's life in art, and I'm OK with that
Holy cow, I just previewed this post and realized that your smiley vault might be running a bit low on smileys after this post. Sorry for the excessive use of the poor little guy. I just couldn't help it, as stated earlier, it's life in art and I can't stop smiling
