Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
Hello, Heroes... I've been lucky enough to play the last 2 BWE's alongside my boyfriend and we absolutely love this game so far. Even though I adored the PvE part (I lvld a character to 7) I felt I had to take advantage of the "unlock all skills for the beta weekend" feature to try out new character builds. The structured PvP is fantastic, the spells and skills are amazing, the graphics are breathtaking, and it ran very smoothly (at least it did for me). I like that there are so many ways to effectively build your characters and teams, and the game seems like it may have some depth and longevity (I hope!). I was so addicted and excited that I haven't been able to nit-pick the game yet but the dialogue box set-up was not my favorite. And I just hope that the game doesn't turn into all competitive guilds figuring out how to exploit spells & skills. Other than that, so far so great!
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
Yes, my boyfriend (Dreamless Sleep) and I headed up a guild way back in the day in Asheron's Call, and also had a small guild of about 14 people in City of Heroes. We've played atleast 6 mmo's together (including betas) and many other games as well. To be honest though, I think that Guild Wars will offer a completely different type of guilding experience than we've ever had since it is such a new type of game. Guilds/Clans mean much more in this type of game. I'm excited to see what lies ahead...
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
Where do I start? Well, first and foremost it would be the general feeling I had when coming to your site. While reading the philosophy (and the rest of the site) I think I just knew that if everyone in the guild is in it because they got the same feeling about it as I did, it should be a great group of people. All the qualities I was hoping to find were right before my eyes: somewhat selective - yet welcoming at the same time, laid back, good sense of humor, intelligent (mature) and well thought out, for casual and hardcore gamers alike, no "forced builds", a desire to be good at PvP but not obsessed about it.
...and the focus on having fun (GW should not be a job)
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
I read your post on the forums from guild-hall, and followed the link there to check out the site.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
I would say average. I've never really been in a leadership role. Even when my boyfriend headed up a guild I was more of just a friend and equal with all of the vassals. I don't really like feeling like I'm being "bossy". I would love to find my own little niche within the guild and if I'm needed for something, just ask!
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
We are right next to Seattle, WA so in Pacific Standard Timezone. On the conservative side, I'd guesstimate that I would play about 2-4 hours per evening on weekdays (anywhere in between 6pm and 1am) and about 5-7 hours per day on weekends (scattered times to fit around other plans).
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
Unfortunately, this will be the first game in a long time that my first character will not be a healer I am an excellent healer in EQ2 and was in DAOC but the Monk's role in GW is much more than keeping an eye on health bars and hitting hotkeys in time. I tried rolling up a monk but couldn't quite figure out how to withstand the beatdown and not run out of power. I played with and against so many awesome monks that could live through anything so I figured that if I couldn't be the best healer, I should try another class first. I found one My first character to get to know the game with will be a Ranger/Warrior. She is a rogue-type character who's role will be to do some serious damage. And luckily, she seemed decent at withstanding some damage as well. I hope I like her as much upon release as I did in the last BWE.
I hope to try out other character classes as well down the road. It will be fun to eventually have all the spells/skills unlocked Maybe I can get some pointers from a good monk in the guild...
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
I don't feel that it's my job to be someone's mother necessarily, but of course I wouldn't approve of it. I'd assume that whomever was being assaulted could handle themselves but I would voice my disapproval if I felt I was in a position to do so. Most inappropriate behavior I just ignore since some people who exhibit that behavior do so for attention. I can't play into that stuff (and then maybe I'd have to write down their licence plate number and report it to the guild so we could slay them on the battlefield! hehe j/k....kinda)
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
At this point I'm 95% sure that I will be using the name Coda Paradox. I also have another name saved on my account that I will be keeping: Zodiac Hex. But I can't use that one for a ranger, hehe. She'll have to be my elementalist or mezmer.
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
So far I am registered on the site guild-hall.net and my username is Mogwai
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
It would be pretty satisfying to work up to the point that we have a decent position (and by decent I even mean in the top 50). I am a realist though and know that there will be so many guilds that are really, really hardcore about that stuff and they will most always occupy the top 30 slots. Some people might figure out weird ways to bot or dual-box or write programs or whatever people do to get ahead. It's sad but true. And of course the guilds that don't use any type of "extra advantage" still employ things like mandatory character builds and training time, etc. I don't think we'd ever win against all this on a regular basis and that is so ok with me. I'd rather be sitting on a lower rung of the ladder and be comfortable and happy. So long as we all improve together, learning the game and our characters while having a blast, it'll be all good.
Thanks so much for starting this guild and for your consideration. My boyfriend also applied above and we have a couple of real-life friends who will be playing GW as well (so I really hope there's room!). Your guild sounds like home...
-I edited this to answer question 9... missed it the first time! doh

Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
Guild Wars was recommended by friends who know a thing or two about MMOG's (this would be DreamlessSleep and Coda Paradox), and as I trust their taste on such things I decided to give it a shot. Likes: No monthly subscription, shallow learning cuve, simple game mechanic with a wealth of depth, great game for the "I have 30-minutes and need a game fix" play urge.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
I was briefly in a guild in EQ2 and left because I have enough drama in my real life to not want more in my game life, and because the increasing "rules" where decreasing my fun. So far the life of a ronin has been fine though I miss some of the sense of belonging.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
The primary attraction for me is Heroes Etc, acceptance of all play styles being valid and welcome, and that this sense of inclusivity extends to not supporting "heirarchies" in the guild makeup. When I play I want to play amoung peers not "bosses." The way I have interpreted your guild philosophy is one of structured casualness which suits my sensibilities to a tee.
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
From the same two friends, DreamlessSleep and Coda Paradox, that I mentioned above. They felt the vibe of this guild was a good one, and so far it seems that they (as usual) are correct.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
Nature abhors a vacuum, and so do I. If need be I am more than willing to step up, but in general I am seeking little in the way of responsibility as I can't commit to the time I think doing the job right would take.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
It will depend on the WTQ (Wife Tolerance Quotient), but I am anticipating a couple of hours a night, every other night. Most likely I will log in around 8:30pm PST and stick around until 11pm-ish (I too live just outside of Seattle).
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
I usually opt for a "tank" class in other MMOG's, but found myself somewhat frustrated by the experience over the beta weekend. In PvP, rushing in to combat to tank usually meant my game was over in a matter of minutes (sometimes seconds), and though it was usally long enough for the casters to do their work and bring the team to victory, it wasn't very satisfying. After some experimenting I ended up with a Ranger/Warrior as this build provided "protection services" with longevity.
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
This would largely depend on the mettle of the person being harassed. If they were seasoned and capable of holding their ground then I would stay out of the fray and lend moral support after the fact. If the person was less experienced and their game experience was being ruined then I would work with them to remedy the situation with the game's built in Rules of Conduct. I would never engage in name-calling (no matter the temptation) or resort to personalized attacks as a solution to someone getting out of line in game (or out of one for that matter). My basic life philosophy is that in a game of tug-of-war, just letting go of the rope negates the game. As a representative of the guild I won't tolerate nonsense either directed towards the guild or coming out of it.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
Tom Fury will be one as will Sir Loin O Beouf.
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
I don't currently post to any other boards
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
Far less important than how we achieve whatever ranking it is we would have. Do I want to win? Sure. Do I want to win at the expense of everything else? Nope.

Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
I have been waiting for a non pay to play Online rpg for a long time. I use to play Ultima Online and finally got tired of having to pay for something when there was nothing new about it. What I like the most about Guild Wars is getting from place to place is a challenge. Unlike games like Ultima Online where you can just run past mobs to get where your going in guild wars you have to fight to get through. This makes for a more convincing experience. What I like least about it is probably the torture between the BWE but that’s over!
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
Yes I was in one for Ultima Online and if you consider clans as guilds then I have been in many.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
That you mostly concentrate on PvE but would like some GvG. That you seem to be very helpful to others, and not overly competitive.
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
You pmed me Guild-Hall forums.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
A lot to average.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
Nashville, TN, Central Time Zone, I work Mon – Fri 9-5 so mostly after 5:15 taking a break for dinner and what not. Weekends will be during the day and late night(mostly late night).
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
I have been and will continue to use my Ranger/Monk. My build is pretty much complete ranger with Rez. I love the ranger because the profession is all about survival. I found its good to have rez because in parties I was usally the last to live. As for other chars I’m not sure yet.
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
Tell them to cut it out.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
My ranger will be this name. Any other chars will have the same last name.
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
Guild-hall and I use this name.
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
Not at all.

Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
I have always had an interest in Fantasy type books (knights, wizards, warcraft, suspense, challenges, good outcomes, etc) I have been an avid player of Diablo, but have found it lacking in any real Guild type play. You really could make it in the game without many supportive players with you. To be honest, what I first attracted me to Guild Wars was the graphics and the free online gaming, but after playing the bata tests - I have enjoyed the team aspect where you do need everyone in your team to make it through. The fact that it is stratigic is also a plus. I found that Diablo was getting quite boring, where as with this you get to do many different things and it is 10 times more challenging.
What do I like the least? Hmmm.. being that it has just come out.. I really couldn't say. I suppose what I haven't liked in the past with other games is the disrespect, the "noob" calling, stealing others items, taking advantage of people who have just started, etc. I am always for the underdog I suppose.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
I have never been in a guild. I am guessing that if I were to be in the right kind of guild - where you are honest players (not hackers or cheats) then you don't have to play or be around those that aren't. Worst thing is to play with someone who is "tricked out" but not because they worked for it, but because they downloaded a cheat for free.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
What I do like is that you are not hardcore gamers that insist on your members to play a certain amount of hours. I do work and have to do a lot of overtime. I would like to play with a group of people that are helpful and positive players. I deal with enough stress at work - than to have to play with 12 year olds who like to rant about silly things that don't mean anything.
I also like the fact that you are more geared towards PvE. =)
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
Macron had referred me.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
Well, I would like to say a lot, but being that I work so darn much... I would say as much as I can.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
I live in Colorado, USA. I will mostly be playing on the weekends when I can. I might be able to play during the weeknights, but it would be only for a few hours.
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
I really have only played a Warrior/Monk and a Monk/Ranger. Funny enough, I have really enjoyed the Monk. I have gotten pretty good at it and have received numerous compliments and guild requests. I think what I like most about it .... is the fact that I can concentrate on the team and making sure that they are taken care of. I suppose hacking or bombarding things to death is the more heroic thing, but I have enjoyed sitting in the background devoting my entire spell catagories to being the HEALER not a FIGHTER.
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
Hmmm. Well I am a firm beliver that two wrongs do not make a right, though I am not one to just switch off or back down. I suppose, (and this would not go for just Guild Members - I would do this for anyone) I have found that the people who berate other people are actually kids. I would point that out and nicely show that whatever that person was saying was idiotic and unnecessary. In the past that seemed to work. If it became a constant problem, then either stronger words would be necessary or a swift email to the Guild Wars creators would have to be made to end the conflict.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
Mylaya Lifegiver. Otherwise you could just mssg Macron and he would tell me. =)
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
N/A
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
As important as the Guild that I belong to belives it to be. I will do what I can to help with making sure, if that is the goal, that the Guild made it to where they would want it to be. Personally, never really cared. I am more for playing for fun than for sport.

Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
To be honest it was the free online play, but the more I read about it the more excited I got about the game. As far as dislikes...I don't think I've come
across anything yet I really dislike.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
Yes. I used to play Ultima Online. I was there for about 4 1/2 years before I finally quit for good. I liked whole online idea; playing with/against
hundreds of other people at the same time. I especially liked the housing feature. Eventually, though, the game was run into the ground. They ruined too
many character classes and made it too easy to create an awesome character.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
" Roleplaying will be a focus of certain members of the guild, and the guild will support this by encouraging an atmosphere conducive to roleplay." I miss
that from UO. No dislike so far.
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
Stratics forum.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
For now, I am just getting my feet wet in this game but as I learn more and gain experience as a player, I wouldn't mind taking on some role or other for
the guild.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
As much a life lets me.I work full time and have an active social life so...mostly evnings and some weekends. I'm in mountian standard time; Edmonton, Alberta
Canada
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ? I always make a warrior first; for
reason it seems they are easiest to 'grow', at least untill I gain more experience and aptitude with the game. I would consider making a Monk as well.
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
Hmmmm...good question. I think if my guild mate was being verbally assulted I would send a private messege tothem asking if they require aid or if they would
like to leave the area.If it was the other way around I would probably report it to the guildmaster or one of the ranking officers.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
That information is top secret! Seriously though, I think one or two characters is more then enough for me.
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
I dont post anywhere else at this time.
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you? Not sure yet. I like the idea of knowing where one stands in the guilds eyes but I would like to know
why one person gets the promotion over another. Perhaps if an official announcement were made detailing the rationale behind any promotion....

Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
I heard about the game when I started playing WoW. What got my interests were aspects that this game has such as having one shard/server for everyone to play on, no monthly fee's, game being designed by ex Diablo people (used to play that for a few years, great game), and a few other things, heh I'm new so everything is a discovery to me.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
I was in in a guild when I played WoW. Was the first time I actually played in a serious guild. Things I liked were the friends I made there, ease of getting a party together to do a quest, sharing of resources (I was an enchanter so people brought me things to disenchant and I would credit them for it, so when they came to get an enchantment I could return the favor). Mostly tho, the community aspect of the guild is what I liked most, I don't think I would have played as long if not for the people I played with.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
Most of the things listed in your philosophy are things I seek. Currently I'm a casual gamer (used to be hard core 12-16 hours a day...heh that was quite a trip)and your philosophy fits to what I want out of a guild ie friendly bunch of people that'll help me out and I can help them when they need me.
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
Guild Hall Forums, I posted on the looking for a guild thread and got a response quite quickly.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
For now I'll say a little, I'm not that familiar with the game, but with time perhaps I would take a more serious role in the guild.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
I live in Chicago so that would be Central Time Zone. Right now my job takes up most of my hours during the day...everyday of the week, so I'm looking at a few hours in the evenings most days during the week.
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
Right now I've got a Nec/Mes but I'll try any class that I find interesting. I mostly stick to caster type classes, but I'll try a melee character once in a while also.
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assaulted or any inappropriate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
If the offender is just plainly being an ass I'll ignore them, no point in arguing with someone who's a trash talker. Save yourself some stress and ignore them. If on the other hand the person just wants to argue their point I'll listen and go from there. I've made a friend out of an enemy like that before.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
Solitudes Misery
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
Guild-Hall : Solitude
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
Once I figure out how it works I'll have a position. I do like to PvP, but having fun would be my main concern rather then being the best.

Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
What attracted me to Guild Wars was that I like MMORPGs. I went into the store and hear that it was coming out, intrested I looked into it and thought that t seems decent. After playing it I have to admit that it is better then anyother MMORPG that I've played.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
The last time that I was in a guild was just after Starcraft came out. I didn't like it because the other people in the guild just acted like it was a place to hang out and no one supported eachother. So I quit joining guilds and just teamed up with people.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
Well the part about being a hardcore player is something that I cannot do. It's not that I don't want to, but the fact that I'm in the military restricts me to when I can play. I will be playing when ever I have time off though, this I can guarantee. As i said in my prevous answer, I am all for watching eachothers back and helping eachother out when ever possable.
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
I heard from Jubei Mitsutoshi.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
I am not currently that familure with the game, but what ever responsibility is granted to me I will handle to the very best of my ability
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
I am in the easter standard time zone. I plan to play at the VARY least 2 hours every night that I get off. I cannot give any times that I will be on because of the unreliable schedules that are provided to me, if need I can give the times that I can play on any certin week once I get the information.
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
I just made my Necro/Warrior. Who I plan on using from now on.
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assaulted or any inappropriate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
I would warn them, giving them a chance to correct them selfs. If they continued I would report them to higher.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
I have the same as I Reg. with.
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
This would be my first posting.
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
Once I figure out how it works then I'll have an idea. I'm into having fun when playing a games, and whats fun with out a little competition.

Re: Post your answers here.
Hi folks! Thanks to Dannzzig for sending me this way.
You look like a good place to be, so I think I'll petition. So, here's my Q&A:
quote: 1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
I am a hardcore gamer who has played nearly every major MMORPG to hit the market. The entire MMO genre fancinates me. I've been gaming steadily since the 8-bit days, and the idea of being able to play with thousands of people all over the world is simply awesome.
The problem is, most MMO games require far more time than I have! When I was a kid it was no problem, but as an adult with a real life it is very tough to find that much time anymore.
Having played in every one of the BWEs, I found that Guild Wars is a perfect fit for my life style. Skill-based gameplay, quick load-to-action capabilty, esthetically pleasing... the kind of game I could load up for an hour before I need to leave the house.
There is very little about the game that has turned me off. I'm sort of a glass half full type of guy, so I don't usually see many downsides.
quote: 2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it?
Been in a guild in all the MMO games I've played (though I avoid clans in online RTS or FPS games.) I'm still in a guild in WoW.
Guilds can be a lot of fun, but the one complaint I've had about most of my previous guilds is that I was constantly expected to devote my life to the guild. Sometimes I play for two weeks straight, sometimes I'll only be on one or two days a week. Sometimes I even go on a vacation or business trip and don't log in at all for a while. I want to be in a casual guild, with casual players, in a casual game.
My ideal guild is a band of friends. People who enjoy playing, and playing together. I respect those who make guilds for dominating PvP, or for strictly roleplay, or for whatever reason. I like doing all that, I'm just looking for it on a more casual basis.
quote: 3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
1.) Casual gaming.
2.) Lack of member "ranking."
3.) Equal interest in all aspects of the game. (i.e. PvE, PvP, etc.)
4.) Mature, respectful players.
Once again, no dislikes really. Hard to dislike a bunch of folks I don't know yet!
quote: 4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
Contacted directly by Dannzzig in response to a forum post.
quote: 5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
I've founded guilds a few times, I've ended up as a guild officer too many times, and I've been a lacky once or twice.
I'm an excellent leader, I enjoy serving others, and I am dependable.
I do not specifically strive for extra responsibilities or leadship. I'm happy to lead as circumstances dictate, and I take on responsibilities when others need me to.
I like help out, but I'm not a glory seeker. I'm perfectly happy sitting in the background doing my thing until I'm need for something.
quote: 6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
I imagine I'll be playing several nights a week. The amount I play fluctuates (especially when a really cool game gets release for one of my many consoles...)
I live in Spokane, WA. (That Pacific Standard Time, yo.) I work from 0700 to about 1530 every weekday. Thursday and Sunday I have obligations, but I still have time to play on either side.
I have various other things that happen, but those aren't set to specific days and times.
quote: 7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it?
I play Mesmer almost exclusively. I'm quite good with Me/N, Me/E, or Me/W builds.
My main build is usually an Me/N. I'm currently specced Illusion/Blood/Inspiration, but I also enjoy the Death magic build.
(On a side note, I am an extremely technical player. I'm the type of guy who can discuss the pro and cons of one particular build down the exact benefits of having a single point in one attribute. I tend to memorize things quickly, and I could happily spend hours designed the perfect character.)
With that said, I want to try playing Ranger at some point. It really the one class that doesn't mesh well as a Mesmer sub, so I'd like to try building something out as a Ranger primary instead.
quote: 8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
I am a problem solver. I also have several years of experience on a debate team, so I tend to mediate.
If that doesn't work, take your guildies and go. It's an online game, there isn't anything you can really do to the offending party. Getting angry would only grant that person the satisfaction of knowing they have some measure of control on you.
quote: 9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
Most of my names are variation on Monarch. (Main is Soul Monarch, the most common version.)
The only other alias I go by is Eros, but that's an older one and usually only used for temporary characters.
quote: 10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
Either Soul Monarch, or just Monarch.
quote: 11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
It would always be neat to be well ranked, but I wouldn't stress over it. That's not why I play anyways. I'm just here to have fun.
---------------------------------------------
Well, that's my spiel.
Thanks! ^^

Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
I was attracted to the game while playing FFXI as my first MMORPG. I enjoyed the comraderie gained through that experience, but did not like having to pay every month to do so. I enjoy the fact that you don't have to go about killing rabbits or snakes for 17 hours just to get to a level high enough to enjoy the game.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
I have never been in a guild in another game or this one.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
I like that the guild does not require you to have a certain number of hours played and that you are not required to be on at certain times. I am a technology professional, and at times my job does make it hard for me to play every day or a certain amount of time every week though I do try to play as often as possible
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
I heard about HeEt through the Guild_Hall.net message boards.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
An Average amount
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
I plan on playing at least an hour a day sometime between 7pm EST and 12 am EST each night. I am in Ohio USA
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
I am currently playing a Ranger/Mesmer build, I am hoping to make it a Monk slayer in PvP and GvG. I am an avid tabletop Role Playing Game player, and really enjoy the Ranger classes of the fantasy games, and the Ranger helps me continue this online.
8. If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
I would respectfully ask the assaulting character to "step" back, take a deep breath and calm down a little. And if they are not willing to step back and take a few moments to collect themselves and continue to berate the member of the guild, I would request assistance in calming the affronting player.
9. If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ? ( this is so we know who you are =p )
My in-game Name is Vaniodorr Stralen
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use? ( this is for reference purposes only )
I just started posting on Guild_hall.net boards as well.
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
I see the Guild's ladder position as an interesting side note, but not something to be the end all aspect of rating this guild. If the guild were to lose a few battles in the ladder, so be it, as long as everyone is having fun and enjoying themselves.
I hope this will be a good fit and that I can join the guild. Thank you for the Oppurtunity.
Vaniodorr.

Re: Post your answers here.
1. What attracted you to Guild Wars, and what do you like most and least about it?
What attracted me to Guild Wars? I currently play COH and really have enjoyed it and I have always played these games as RPG's. This games was interesting in concept and the many ways you could go in it.
2. Have you ever been in a guild in another game, and are you in one now ? Explain what you like/d about or dislike/d about it ?
I have been in a guild. I am currently in a guild or super group as it is called in COH. What I like about it is it is laid back people play together and there is no pressure. Play when you can as real life issues arise.
3. What about the HeEt philosophy do you like or dislike. Please be specific.
What I like about HeEt philosophy is the no pressure and lets play and have fun attitude. Some guilds are a little to extreme and I am just looking to have fun. This is just a game.
4. Where did you hear about us ? ( example: website, in game , another player, etc )
I heard about HeET from guild hall.net.
5. How much responsibility would you be willing to handle; a lot, an average amount, or a little?
As for responsibilty I would be able to handle a little bit.
6. How much do you plan on playing ? and what hours do you play? ( please include your time zone , country or state etc )
I plan on playing 4-6 hrs a week usually at 10:00pm-12:00am EST. USA, Vrginia.
7. What type of characters do you have or plan on making ? example - Ranger / Elementalist etc what you like about it ?
I plan on making a few characters. My main character is a elementalist/necromancer. I plan on creating a ranger, cleric/fighter and possile 4th.
8.If you see a member of the guild being verbal assulted or any inappropiate behavior in anyway being done, how would you handle the situation?
If I see a guild member being assaulted or in any inappropriate behavior being done. I would send the perp a whisper and tell that person to calm down. It's just a game and we all are trying to have fun and take it easy. To be relax is the best way to make any game experience best.
9.If you use another name in game, other than the one you registered with for the boards, What name will that be ?
I use the name of Mist Mage on the game.
10. If you post on any other message board related to Guild Wars ie. VnBoards, the Guild_hall etc, What name do you use?
If I post in any other sites it will probably MM2005.
11. How important is the Guild's Ladder position to you?
Guild ladder position is not that important to me. If we have a contest that we wish to participate and want win I am game for that, but if people just want to play and enjoy playing for playing I am good for that also. I just like playing games and not worrying about the extra. Let's play as a team and have a good time.
I am currently a level 7 elementalist/necromancer still in Ascalon FYI.
Thanks for reviewing my questions.
