Should I get GW: Factions?
Right now, I have only Prophecies and GWEN. I'm strongly thinking of getting Factions, but ONLY if this guild is active in its activities.
Lately I've been seeing people doing AB. Is that something that Heet is looking into? Is our alliance strong and planning to make an actual difference? Who else here has Factions?
If I decide to get it, I just might make it my own X-mas present. A/W 20, here I come.

Re: Should I get GW: Factions?
Personally, I think Factions is worth the buy just for the AB. There are a number of guildies who enjoy AB and will play at almost anytime. If you enjoy PvP at all or would like to give PvP a try, AB is a good place to start. We have sort of designated Monday nights as AB night for those who are interested but it's looked at as fun time not a guild requirement. I believe the alliance as a whole operates under the same premise. There are many who enjoy AB but the alliance is not going to promote or require faction farming. We're really just all about having fun.
Btw, there is a group of us who are about to start new characters in Factions so now would be a good time for you to get it.

Re: Should I get GW: Factions?
Factions was... really my favorite out of the main chapters. First one that really sucked me into its story. Sure, one of the main areas in the game is ugly. Ugly as sin.
It's called the Jade Sea.
Nah, just kidding, it's Kaineng City. It's ugly and fairly hard to navigate through your first time in. (Due to a number of areas having High and Low roads)

Re: Should I get GW: Factions?
Beware, noob incoming Factions!
I got it now, and I'm lovin' AB. I'm gonna hoarde shards and balthazar points, and then will single-handedly claim a city.
Maybe...

Re: Should I get GW: Factions?
It'd be really hard. You can only "Store" up 10,000 faction on your account. Any faction you donate to the Alliance suffers a 10% loss every day, or there about. Considering to claim even the smallest outposts you'll probably need about 8,000,000 Faction... yeah.
Also the fact that as the "Line" swings back and forth if the other side takes over the area your outpost is in you lose it.

Re: Should I get GW: Factions?
There are some pretty good elite skill captures in Factions. I had a hard time getting a character through Factions, but I finally have 2 through the main storyline and 1 through the bulk of the chapter.
AB is a lot of fun. I will jump into a few matches when I am burned out from the PvE. There have been a few times we have more faction than anyone else in the Alliance which is nice. It is also nice that we are not Faction crazy. I am pretty sure we would not make it.

Re: Should I get GW: Factions?
Yeah. Javeron, if you like to Ele it up you should check for some of the great Elementalist Caps in Factions. Ones that come to mind are... Hmm "Star Burst" was popular, but personally I think "Shockwave" was a lot more effective. "Unstable Earth" was another really neat one. I've hosed a lot of Ranger Spike Teams with that.
But yeah, two characters wouldn't help any on Faction Farming. Because the "Storage" you can keep on your character is capped Account Wide like Balthazar Faction would be.

Re: Should I get GW: Factions?
You can trade in your faction at outposts now so the cap isn't a big deal. Use to have to leave and go to GH and turn it in, that sucked.

Starburst sounds pretty cool, but man I haven't even had my full with Tyrian caps too.
