Question of the future.

Hey everyone. I know it's been a while, but here's my story. I love guild wars. Don't get me wrong, after all I'm going to say here am am still quite addicted to it. Now, as some of you know, i have left the guild. I should have said something, but it was kinda spur of the moment. I needed to change my alliance so I could finish mapping Cantha. I never told anyone because I don't play much anymore. In fact, once I get my 6 more elites in Tyria and the corresponding KoaBD rank 2, I probably won't play much at all until the GW2 beta.

Why, you ask? I've been playing this game for a very long time. Of all the classes I have played (well, all of them), I can't find a character that fits me better than a ranger, so I don't really want to play anything else. I have all the weapons I need. More than enough armor. I have saved everyone, killed all the baddies, made a name for myself, and now I need a break. I got my KoaBD title up to rank 2 so I'd have a little something to play with when GW2 comes out. Sure, I could keep going for more titles, but I'm all burned out on title grining.

So basically, it all comes down to this. Right now I'm playing a game called EVE Online (I'm sure many of you know of this). It's a fun game, I enjoy it even with its fee. However, I can guarantee that when GW2 comes out I will be switching back. It;s difficult to play both EVE and GW because at this point both take a lot of time. I was wondering if I could come back into the guild as an inactive member, so I could keep in touch with you guys over the next year until the beta is released, and onto GW2. Who knows, I may even get back into the game after this summer. I feel bad about just vanishing, but my play time has been reduced to a few hours a month. What do you say?

Hey Mat,

Did noticed you left, was bummed about it, but very glad to hear back from you.

The guy I work with and use to play Planetside and Battlefield with is playing EVE as well, think he is just on the 14 day trial at this point. Say hi to Pitchblende or add him to your friends list or something, however that game works emoticon

I'm for not kicking people off the roster for inactivity anymore. We aren't actively recruiting new members and may have more members in this very position until GW2 comes out.

Glad you brought this point up, and gladder that you still want to be a Guildie emoticon

I was bummed when I saw you were gone, too. Especially since you could have just gotten a guest pass to a Canthan guild to grind the 10k emoticon

I'm not in GW that much anymore, either, but I really love being in Heroes, so I want to stay on the roster & active in the forums (and in game!). There's not much of a reason for me to log in if there isn't an event going on, but I still want to see PvE Wednesdays come back & I try to make GvG whenever I can.

I'm for keeping Matt :P

Thanks guys! I really enjoy playing with you. I'm going to leave my temp guild, if you don't mind giving me an invite when you get this so i can chill in the guild. I'll do my best to get back into Wednesday activities, but my classes go until 6:30PM EST, and then my girlfriend and I try to go to the gym until about 9PM, but I'll do my best.

Hey, If you guys try to organize a Canthan new years event, i will do everything in my power to make it.

P.S. I'll keep my eye out for your friend. I'm in a real friendly corp, and we're growing fast.

Invite sent. I think many of us are in the same boat Mat. Just killing time here and in other games until GW2 gets here. Very glad you'll still be hanging with us.

...

Wait... why would you need another guild? You can donate faction to either. You can gain faction with either. No alliances have areas that can't be mapped by anyone... ^ ^;; The logic confuses me.

It was for a glitch mapping technique that required you to fight the guards of a shrine.

I believe we have always had the opinion that if a Hero was not asked to leave, they are still a Hero and are welocme to rejoin.

Playing a different game doesn't make someone "not a Hero". Just makes us miss them and wonder how they are doing.

There has even been talk of Hero groups in other games. (We even have had WoW "defectors".)

The usual problem is lack of time for keeping in touch, not turning our backs on those that wander.
