Knockdown Warrior Build

Warrior / Elementalist
Hammer Mastery 11 (+1 armor)
Strength 10
Lightning Magic 10
Berserker Stance
Sprint
Backbreaker [Elite]
Hammer Bash
Mighty Blow
Shock
Whirlwind
Conjure Lightning
Strategy
A knockdown maniac, a terrible bane to most players... especially casters like monks. One of the key discoveries, is that the warriors "Stonefist Gauntlets" lengthen the knockdown time of anything.. including ones from any Elem spells. Then... the Shock skill reads "Stun and strike target touched foe for 10-37 lightning damage." This really should read knockdown and not stun.
Get the Conjure Lightning up, then target someone soft, like a mesmer or monk. Cast the Berserker Stance and start swinging away until they're at about 2/3 life. When you see them in a spell animation, pop a shock on them, interrupting them, and getting them on the floor. Shock ends up being one of the best knockdown skills, as all it needs is the energy cost of 10... no adrenaline... remaining castable long before you've built up enough adrenaline for typical warrior knockdowns. Anyway, the stonefist has them grounded for a little longer than normal, so keep swinging. As soon as there up again, use a Backbreaker, putting them down again, this time for a long, long time! Use the mighty blow (I'd rather a Crushing Blow, but couldn't find it), and keep swinging. When they get up again, use the Hammer bash (emptying your adrenaline) to knockdown again!! Keep swinging. When they get up again, you have regained enough energy to recast the shock, knocking them down again!!! Keep swinging.
With the addition of the Conjure Lightning, plus the higher damage of the hammer, each swing adds huge damage to your target. Sprint was invaluable to just hunt down a threat, or make a tactical retreat. Whirlwind was great as well, further spiting anyone who may actually try and swing back. I'll probably replace this with a simple Counter Blow though.
Granted, I only got to try this in the safer environents of the arena (and a couple Tomb matches), near the end of the BWE, but I still got wonderful results. The very nature of denying your target any and all options of escape, attempting to heal himself or hobble you, is a very frustrating position to be in. With even the slightest of help in focus firing, I was able to kill casters in a few seconds! Any warrior trying to go toe-to-toe with me was also at a serious disadvantage.
From a GvG standpoint, I'm hoping to try this as a caster assassin of sorts, really opening up the opportunity for our teams focus fire, while being able to *protect* our monks from wouldbe attackers if need be. Also being able to absolutely prevent enemy runners from reaching the middle flag. The major downside is.... ZERO healing of my own . Healing Signet is tied to tactics (of which I have none), Endure Pain does not work well at all (yuck...I'll explain later), Doylak Signet slows me down, and Aura of Restoration doesn't help much (I don't cast *that* much spells). Fortunetly, whenever a monk would throw any heal per hit spells my way, like Vigorous Spirit, I was relatively okay.

Re: Knockdown Warrior Build
Just finished playing some PvP with a Fire Knocker. While I should have been able to do nice damage, and did in the random arena, any serious groups stopped me in my tracks.
There are many skills that can be used against me. The overall effect was not what i had hoped.
It would be interesting to hear some other first hand reports.

Re: Knockdown Warrior Build
Wow, that looks very close to what I was thinking of when I switched to a hammer. I love the extra damage-dealing attacks that I get with my hammer, but I think simply knocking enemies on their bahookie repeatedly would be a more useful strategy for me.

Re: Knockdown Warrior Build
Which hammer grip and/or haft do you think would most compliment this type of build? I'm using only attacks that rely on hammer mastery, so I'm adding points to that attribute at the expense of strength. Therefore I'm thinking I might benefit from an upgrade that increases armor penetration.
Or, since I'm going with the Air/Knockdown effect I could perhaps go for something that increases one of those.
