Ranger/Monk - LoD/trapper
OgMT04Ljnpua3orHnUjyJ5gGBA
What about this for a Flagrunner?
LoD {Elite}
Restful Breeze
Words of Comfort
Storm Chaser
Dodge
Spike Trap
Dust Trap
Res Chant
Attributes:
Expertise 13 (12+1)
Wilderness Survival 7 (3+4)
Healing Prayers 12
With this setup you have 24 seconds of speed buff. Spike Trap brings cripple and Dust Trap is good to put under the monks. Could bring Mending Touch to remove cripple when applied to Runner.

Re: Ranger/Monk - LoD/trapper
Isnt' Spike Trap an Elite? I thought it was (Thus why I wasn't impressed with it before)...
Or maybe I'm thinking of something else.
Dust Trap under monks? Why would you want to Blind Monks?
Maybe I'm too sleepy and remembering most of this wrong...
I'd probably suggest dropping Dodge for Natural Stride though. If Spike is an Elite, then you'd have an extra slot with LoD missing...
I'd probably suggest Flame Trap.

Re: Ranger/Monk - LoD/trapper
I think that you are confusing Barbed Trap with Spike Trap.
Tripwire is a good combo to add also.

I'd be a little concerned about energy too.
Half the skillbar won't get the expertise bonus. With only 3 pips and a small pool to start with, you could very easily run into energy issues.
Probably better off dropping expertise completely, maxing out wilderness, and carrying a staff or wand/focus.

Re: Ranger/Monk - LoD/trapper
Hmm... I might rework the Ranger to look like this...
Expertise 12 (10+2)
Wilderness Survival 13 (11+1+1)
Healing Prayers 10
Restful Breeze
Words of Comfort
Trapper's Focus (Elite)
Barbed Trap
Flame Trap
Dust Trap
Natural Stride
Ressurection Signet
I'm not sure which one would be the "Stronger", but it could bear testing. It doesn't have LoD, but a Ranger would probably run out of energy pretty quickly running LoD.
I'm venturing mine as stronger because as it stands Dodge is the only way that exists to prevent the previous build's traps from being interrupted. And I find even when I'm using something like Dodge or Whirling D that I get interrupted way too often. Trapper's Focus prevents your traps from being Interupted by just normal hits.
Natural Stride is my favorite Run skill now, and gives that 50% block rate with being up more than half the time. Barbed puts the cripple and bleeding on, Dust does blindness for Warrior or Assassin troubles, Flame, well, fire damage and Burning.
I think Restful Breeze and Words of Comfort should be enough Healing. I'd suggest using a Healing Staff of course.
Can anyone test these two out?

Re: Ranger/Monk - LoD/trapper
I went with two run skills for better coverage. I figured the prime responsibility was to move the flag. The equipment setup gives 54 energy while not holding the flag. Storm Chaser would be good for when they send an Ele out to kill you (at least for energy).
My experience with only using Words of Comfort and Restful Breeze did not seem like a lot of healing. It is okay when focusing on 1 person that is not taking too much damage.

Re: Ranger/Monk - LoD/trapper
Restful Breeze is really only useful when actually running since you really can't do anything else after casting it.

Mind sharing your equipment setup? The best I have been able to achieve on my rangers is 45 energy with a +5 energy weapon, 40 without...
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Ranger/Monk - LoD/trapper
Use Attunement Runes and a +15 energy -1 regen wand and a +12 energy focus? That'd be my guess on it.

Re: Ranger/Monk - LoD/trapper
Here is the template code for equipment:
Pk5hbOnjjSaEkJVdqwn1I900n1IBLzi1IBTvn1IBrjn1IbB
This will actually net you 56 energy (with 3 Runes of Attunement and +5e weapon).
