Ice Warden - GvG Build
Thi build is a possible substitute for the Sandstorm Warder.
Designed to be the defensive kingpin for the attacking team, the Ice Warden lays his wards to protect his teammates while they assault the opposition, and uses Master of Magic to maintain a steady stream of energy while adding to the offense a bit with Ice Spear. Blured Vision is a great defense vs warriors, and Ice Prison will stop a runner cold.

Energy Storage: 12 (11+1)
Water Magic: 12 (10+2)
Earth Magic: 11 (10+1)
- Ward Against Foes (Earth Magic)
You create a Ward Against Foes at your current location. For 17 seconds, non-Spirit foes in this area move 50% slower.
Energy:15 Cast:1 Recharge:20
- Ward Against Melee (Earth Magic)
You create a Ward Against Melee at your current location. For 17 seconds, non-Spirit allies in this area have a 50% chance to evade melee attacks.
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:20
- Ward of Stability (Earth Magic)
Create a Ward of Stability at your current location. For 21 seconds, non-Spirit allies in the area cannot be knocked down.
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:30
- Master Of Magic [Elite] (Energy Storage)
For 20 seconds, whenever you cast a Spell, you gain 2 Energy for each Recharging Skill that does not share this Spell's attribute.

- Ice Spear (Water Magic)
Ice Spear flies toward target foe, striking for 58 cold damage if it hits. Ice Spear has half the normal Spell range.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:0
- Blurred Vision (Water Magic)
For 18 seconds, target foe and adjacent foes are Hexed with Blurred Vision. While Hexed, these foes have a 50% chance to miss with attacks.
Energy:15 Cast:1 Recharge:20
- Ice Prison (Water Magic)
For 18 seconds, target foe's legs are encased in ice, causing the foe to move 66% slower. This effect ends if target takes fire damage.
Energy:10 Cast:2 Recharge:30
- Resurrection Signet ()
Resurrect target party member. That party member is returned to life with 100% Health and 25% Energy. You may use this Signet only once per mission.
Energy:0 Cast:3 Recharge:0

Is Master of Magic better than Elemental Attunement? I do not have either of them unlocked, but they are fairly easy to reach.

Why wouldn't this be a good place for the resurection chant? Most of the skills (wards) last around 20 seconds and would be there for a while. This way both teams woudl have a hard res.

Not sure if you'd want Ressurection Chant as a hard rez in this case. It is what, 8 seconds of casting time? That's a lot of time for someone to realize that's what you're doing, knock you down, interrupt you... not to mention for those 8 seconds you won't be slowing down Runners or chipping in with hexes, etc.
Nah, the Lava isn't Fire Damage, it's just 'burning'. Which doesn't negate Frozen Legs.
If you're looking for a hard Rez I'd suggest going into a Ritualist pool. Flesh of my Flesh is the fastest casting hard rez I've seen. But you would have to let your monks know you're using it, and thus to cover you while you take the hit.
Death Pact Signet could work well. But that has such a drawback on it... I'm not sure anyone would want to use it. But it does have advantages.
Compare.
Flesh of my Flesh: 5 energy, 3 seconds casting time. Lose half your health, target is ressurected with that much health and X% energy (3-8%).
Death Pact Signet: 0 energy, 2 seconds casting time. Target ally is ressurected with health and energy equal to your own. When that ally dies, you die as well.
I actually have used Death Pact Signet to some success in AvA and RA. (Rez the assassin or something so they can start chaining right away, and are less likely to get slaughtered than the monk, etc)
I'd just be wary about sitting around for 8 seconds with the gylph over your head saying "I'm casting a ressurection spell!" to everyone. You're just begging for something bad to happen. After all, your wards aren't going to prevent you from getting Power Leaked, or Broadhead Arrowed, hell, it'll barely protect you from a Hammer Bash.
Well, that's my thoughts.
I do think Elemental Attunement might work better in that build than Master of Magic. Too many of your skills share attributes. I've had some success with it running a E/Mo, with Smite, Protection, and Healing in the bar.
And I'm a little shy about that 10 second window where Master of Magic is nowhere to be seen...

Are you sure Flesh of my Flesh isn't a 5 sec cast time?
If it's only 3, then yes, that is the best hard rez available.

Yeah, I'm about 90% sure it's 3 seconds. Unless they've recently nerfed it to be 5...
Either way I still think it's the best hard rez skill out there for mid battle. My second choice being Restore Life.
That is, if you for some reason just hate Death Pact Signet.

Flesh is the best rez available, except...
...If you are already low on health, you've basically just given yourself and the guy you rez an additional 15% DP
...Rezzing someone with 5% energy is better than no rez at all, I suppose, but an alert team will target either the rezzer or rezzee. The rezzee won't have anything in the tank to protect themselves, most times.
Still, I like the idea because...
...we need another hard rez, without a doubt
...using the rez when covered by three wards makes it rather difficult to interrupt- not impossible, mind you (mesmers or rangers can still nail you) but it eliminates knockdown ints and melee ones as well
Overall, I like the idea. Consider it added.
@ Peleus- Master of Magic will net 1 energy per cast of Ice Spear (after the cost of Ice Spear) with all three wards charging, for 20 seconds. Ice Spear has no recharge, so it actually makes the guy into a machine gunner.
Elemental Attunement would give you 2 energy per cast of Ice Spear for 48 seconds. Essentially, it lowers the cost of Ice Spear to 3 energy per cast (the game rounds energy reduction down, and cost up). You can't spam it endlessly as you can with Master.
Using Master gives the character 20 seconds to aid with damage, for free. Using Elemental Attunement would greatly reduce this ability.
Still, this build is completely untested. I came up with it last night, and haven't been in game since.

I guess Elemental Attunement is really good when coupled with the specific Attunements, but that requires another slot for an enchantment. I watched my wife play an Ele/Mo with both enchantments and spam Flare. She was getting 8 energy back on a 5 energy cast. She was actually gaining more energy than she could use.
BUT that would take away from another skill. And if you did not notice any energy issues while using Master of Magic there is no reason (not enough skill slots for this).

Someone should check this in-game if they have a chance.
Wiki has it listed as 5 seconds.
Although even at 5 seconds, it's still the best hard rez available.
Death pact sig seems really tempting too, but I'd only want to try it on a really hearty tank (if we had one in the build)
Otherwise, the downside seems too crippling for the team. ...1 kill = 2 kills
