Blind Bot
I thought this could be a potential alternative to the Ebon Dust Ranger in GvG.
Elementalist/Any
Level: 20
Energy Storage: 11 (10+1)
Air Magic: 14 (12+2)
Water Magic: 9 (8+1)
- Blinding Surge [Elite] (Air Magic)
Target foe is struck for 47 lightning damage and Blinded for 10 seconds. If that foe is under the effects of an Enchantment, all adjacent foes are also Blinded for 10 seconds. This Spell has 25% armor penetration.
Energy:10 Cast:0.75 Recharge:4
- Blinding Flash (Air Magic)
Target foe is Blinded for 10 seconds.
Energy:15 Cast:0.75 Recharge:4
- Glyph of Lesser Energy (Elementalist other)
For 15 seconds, your next 2 Spells costs 16 less Energy to cast.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:30
- Chilling Winds (Air Magic)
Target foe is struck for 47 cold damage. For 20 seconds, the next water Hex targeting that foe lasts 95% longer.
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:8
- Blurred Vision (Water Magic)
For 15 seconds, target foe and adjacent foes are Hexed with Blurred Vision. While Hexed, these foes have a 50% chance to miss with attacks.
Energy:15 Cast:1 Recharge:20
- Enervating Charge (Air Magic)
Target foe is struck for 47 lightning damage and suffers from Weakness for 19 seconds. This Spell has 25% armor penetration.
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:8
- Air Attunement (Air Magic)
For 58 seconds, you are attuned to Air. You gain 1 Energy plus 30% of the base Energy cost of the skill whenever you use Air Magic.
Energy:10 Cast:2 Recharge:45
- Resurrection Signet ()
Resurrect target party member. That party member is returned to life with 100% Health and 25% Energy. You may use this Signet only once per mission.
Energy:0 Cast:3 Recharge:0
In addition to blindness you have weakness, and the Blurred hex, which should make it more work for the monks to keep up with removal.
The Glyph can mitigate the cost of Blinding Flash and Blurred Vision, and the attunement should help keep energy management reasonable.

Re: Blind Bot
I think 3 blinds (essentially) on one character is nuts. So, it will probably work.
But... what good does the character do you vs anyone other than blindable targets?
I like the Chilling Winds BLurred Vision combo, but I'd personally like to see more of something- either damage or utility in the build.
Remember, if this build is going to replace the Ebon Dust Ranger, it's going to have to make up for some pressure lost with the removal of Poison from our team.

Re: Blind Bot
Yeah, maybe I went a little overboard.
I think my original thinking was that I wanted to make sure there was enough there to keep the enemy melee blinded.
Although the short recharge of surge probably makes Blinding Flash redundant.
Maybe just replace Blinding Flash with good old Lightning Orb?
I really want to keep Blurred Vision in there though. The fact that it's a hex instead of a condition and could potentially affect multiple targets can really help make things difficult for opposing monks.

Re: Blind Bot
I'd probably replace Flash with something cheap and relatively spamable myself. Lightning Javelin, Lightning Bolt, etc. I like the idea of both conditioning and hexing.

Re: Blind Bot
The idea of this replacing the Ranger requires less line of sight attacks in my opinion. Lightning Bolt fills that requirement.

I think bolt is line-of-sight. Did you mean Lightning Strike?
Anyway I'm really not worried about one line of sight skill in there. The main objective of this build is to consistently apply blindness, weakness, and blurred vision to opposing melee.
I just thought Orb would work well there because it could help with a finishing spike on someone.
I guess it can be considered a flex spot. Try a few different skills there and see what works best.

Re: Blind Bot
how bout Arc Lightning to go with the water hex theme?
I'd probably go with shock arrow for the spamming though. Lightning Orb is always good too, yeah try em out and see what you like.

Re: Blind Bot
Not being dependent on line-of-sight really helps survivability and is fairly easy while defending the flag stand in our Hall. Being able to hide behind the walls and affect the other team with blind and weakness is wonderful (and less work on our monks as well).

Re: Blind Bot
By the way. No, Bolt is not Line of Sight. It's Target Foe takes X damage, and X more damage if the target was moving. 5 energy, 1 second casting, I think 4 second recharge? You can get it out of Kamadan's skill trainer.

Re: Blind Bot
Sounds like it is from the wiki description.
quote:
Spell. Send out a Lightning Bolt that strikes for 5...41 lightning damage if it hits. If Lightning Bolt strikes a moving foe, that foe is struck for 5...41 additional lightning damage. This spell has 25% armor penetration.
