Air Pressure Redux
In response to some of the discussed GvG changes, here's yet another version of the AP build.
Elementalist/Necromancer
Level: 20
Energy Storage: 11 (10+1)
Air Magic: 14 (12+2)
Earth Magic: 9 (8+1)
- Blinding Surge [Elite] (Air Magic)
Target foe is struck for 47 lightning damage and Blinded for 8 seconds. If that foe is under the effects of an Enchantment, all adjacent foes are also Blinded for 8 seconds. This Spell has 25% armor penetration.
Energy:10 Cast:0.75 Recharge:4
- Enervating Charge (Air Magic)
Target foe is struck for 47 lightning damage and suffers from Weakness for 19 seconds. This Spell has 25% armor penetration.
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:8
- Lightning Bolt (Air Magic)
Send out a Lightning Bolt that strikes for 47 lightning damage if it hits. If Lightning Bolt strikes a moving foe, that foe is struck for 47 additional lightning damage. This spell has 25% armor penetration.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:8
- Lightning Strike (Air Magic)
Strike target foe for 47 lightning damage. This Spell has 25% armor penetration.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:5
- Lightning Orb (Air Magic)
Lightning Orb flies toward target foe and strikes for 94 lightning damage if it hits. This Spell has 25% armor penetration.
Energy:15 Cast:2 Recharge:5
- Air Attunement (Air Magic)
For 58 seconds, you are attuned to Air. You gain 1 Energy plus 30% of the base Energy cost of the skill whenever you use Air Magic.
Energy:10 Cast:2 Recharge:45
- Gaze of Contempt (Necromancer Other)
If target foe has more than 50% Health, that foe loses all Enchantments.
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:25
- Ward Against Melee (Earth Magic)
You create a Ward Against Melee at your current location. For 15 seconds, non-Spirit allies in this area have a 50% chance to evade melee attacks.
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:20
Due to obvious energy issues, orb wouldn't be used regularly, just when a 'strike' is called for.
Given some other proposed changes, I'm still not sure if we can do without the rez here though.

Re: Air Pressure Redux
There reasons I didn't have Orb in the origianl build are:
High energy
Line of Sight
2 second cast.
It is an excellent spell for spike damage if these are accounted for.

Re: Air Pressure Redux
If the Warriro build stays the same, or at the very least maintains a slow on the target, then the dodging possibility is at least removed, but I agree that the 2 second cast and the line of sight are quite restricting.
A 15 second Ward is going to be quite effective, without a significant sacrifice elsewhere. I'm quite interested to see how much effect it will have on our ability to hold the flagstand. Energy will definately be something to monitor, though.
I'm also assuming this build is really designed to be used if we switch to the BA Ranger, in order to maintain the second Disenchant...

Yeah, the orb isn't something that we'll be spamming, but I think it could be quite handy when needed.
And yes, I thought this would complement the BA Ranger build. Since we would definitely need some extra damage at the flagstand.

Re: Air Pressure Redux
I know Green has mentioned energy being a an issue at times with Enervating Charge being 10 energy. So how about replacing it with Shell Shock as a cover for the blind.
Shell Shock
Target foe takes 10...34 lightning damage and has Cracked Armor for 5...17 seconds.
5/1/10
Granted it doesn't do as much damage, but it is a cheaper cover for the blindness. That plus any subsequent spells will have a damage boost if it was cast on someone with >60 armor. Which should be almost always, since the people you're blinding usually have 70-80 armor.

Re: Air Pressure Redux
I like it.
Pity cracked isn't a water hex so that Arc Lightning is enhanced.
I admit to using Arc Lightning in place of Lightning Bolt for the build. While Bolt does more to moving targets, it is line of sight.
Arc is not line of sight and is far more useful in my opinion because of it.
