Man, Moment, Machine

Okay, so I got myself a Mesmer character in the works. Also a "Survivor" so if she dies, well, I'll probably be deleting her.

Still, I have to look forward, and ask myself, self, what am I going to do with her, and her skill sets/concept if she actually does survive?

Right now, the Mesmer is a Me/P. And is an Artificer. For those that don't know, the Artificer's is an Armor insignia for Mesmers. Which gives you +3 armor for each Signet on your skill bar. (I currently have 5. +15 armor always is about the best insignia bonus I've ever seen)

My current skill division is as follows.

Attributes are split between Domination, Inspiration, and Motivation.

No fast casting. I'm almost all Signets. Signets don't get the bonus from fast casting anyway...

And my crappy, still on Istan, skill bar is as follows.

Empathy (Domination, deals X damage to target for Y seconds everytime he attacks)
Energy Burn (Target loses X energy, and takes 10 damage for each point of energy lost)
Ether Feast (Back up heal, target loses 3 energy and I gain X health per point lost)

And my Signets..

Signet of Synergy (Heal target for X, and heal myself for X if I am not under the effects of an enchantment)
Leech Signet (Interrupts and steals energy if they were casting a spell)
Remedy Signet (Removes one condition from yourself)
Sunspear Rebirth Signet
Ressurection Signet

I'm pretty sure when I can catch the boat to Cantha I'll pick up the Domination Interrupt Signet, at the very least.

Other than that, I'm not sure which ones I will end up using.

Thoughts, opinions, skills I should look out for, or elites I should hunt down?

Oddly enough my mesmer right now functions fairly well as a "Backup" character. I can heal enough to be useful. Do some Energy Burn damage and Empathy damage, get an occasional interrupt in. Just lacks focus. But it does make a difference in the tide of battle.

Not to mention with my Wand/Shield combo, and my insignia I can take damage much better than any mesmer should ever be able to.

Eventually I want a full 8 Signet skill bar, for my +24 Armor, and some signet insanity.

Well, it would require running the gauntlet from beacons pearch to droknars forge in prophecies, but if you're going for an all sig build, Keystone Signet would be an awsome elite.

I got my Paragon there with the help of a guild group and the run was actually kinda fun.

Other than that, I'd say take a look here
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Signet_skills_quick_reference
and see what you can come up with.

Seems to me that Me/Mo would have the most choices.

Probably. Might take Monk, after I max out my survivor title. emoticon My own surrivor rules, if you might recall. No monks. Makes things too easy. And implies that like many Legendary Survivors you just "Invinimonked" it.

But looking at the list, I might change to it after I get my title... Hm...

But there are some neat Mesmer Signets in there.

If you are going to stay with Paragon secodary, you could go with Signet of Return for a reuseable rez skill.

Signet of Cluminess looks good too (can be found in Istan).

Hmm, caught the boat to Cantha, haven't got to Tyria yet. Probably won't unless I can arrange for an Escourt over to Droknar's Forge and my signet capping. And I don't mean "Runner" I mean "Escourt", as in we all go out and KILL. emoticon Kill our way to the truth, er, outpost.

So now I got something like this...

Signet of Disruption
Leech Signet
Unnatural Signet
Signet of Synergy
Signet of Disenchantment
Signet of Humility
Signet of Capture
Sunspear Rebirth Signet/Signet of Return

I usually put myself on task for anti-spell caster. I keep chipping away at them with my pathetic Wand damage (Hey, 20+ per hit adds up eventually, I guess), stripping down their enchantments, disabling their elites, and of course, disrupting their Big, Flashy Spells.

Nothing is quite as satisfying as Disabling their elite, then finally seeing them get to throw out last minute that monk Elite that will save them...

Only to Signet of Disruption it.

I'd definately love to have this Keystone Signet though. Now, to find some Escourts to Droknar's.

You don't know me very well do you? emoticon

Anyway, this character is Dead for me. Got killed on the run to Droknar's Forge. However, the concept is very sound. The mesmer could take a beating, when it wasn't 10 on 1...
