Stolen Speed build


Trying to build a faster spiker found the skill Stolen Speed {E} (5/1/3 - For 5...17 seconds, target foe's spells take 25% longer to cast and your spells targeting that foe take 25% less time to cast.) So I went out and capped (easy run from Maatu Keep into Shenzun Tunnels.)

I played around with it last night coupled with Air skills, but the damage is not great. The speed though is pretty impressive (especially matched with a Fast Cast attribute of 14). I will try it with the Rit Channeling lineup Green was using tonight.

The only problem with it is that you're notifying the enemy which target you're about to spike by putting the prep hexes on them.

We would probably want a necro in the build spreading hexes around making it difficult for them to identify who the next spike target is.

With a 3 second recharge on Stolen Speed you can actually lay this down on several targets prior to spike. When I was playing around on the Isle of the Nameless, the two hexes were hitting the target in less than 1 second while the first two damage skills were following up in the next second. Arcane echo is going to slow things down a tad, but then 2 Ancestor's Rage will come together in 1 second for 220 points of damage.

Both hexes are pretty fast recharges so these could be used on targets outside of the spike. That way the opposing monks will not know to look for them.

Another option would be this character does not spike with the warrior/sin, but just concentrates on damaging one of the monks. This way 1 monk is taking damage with a slowed cast time, 1 character is being spiked and 1 character is potentially shut down. Now that is 3 opposing characters receiving the focus of half our team.

The other thing I would like to see is how quickly fire skills will activate.

One thing to keep in mind with any caster spike is the 3/4 second aftercast that will delay any casting of the next spell.

You can boost casting times as fast as you want, but the aftercast will always remain.

Yeah... they 'fixed' that a while back. Because I remember having a M/E running Stone Daggers and spitting out three stone dagger spells per second.

Sometime after that, they went and forced the aftercasting thing.

Yeah, it's made working on any spike builds difficult, but I guess it;s for the good of the game. There really shouldn't be any combo that's a guaranteed instant kill. Well, unless we're the only ones who can use it emoticon
