Forsaken Dervish

Been working on this. Especially since the Forsaken Dervish insignias are dirt cheap, rock bottom, and the "Armor for each Enchantment" one is getting pretty high on the list.

Not to mention my experience with Melonni built as the Enchanting Dervish, and my Forsaken Dervish has proved mine to be more effective.

Granted I'm only on the starter island.

So far the build is going:

Split Attributes equally among Tactics, Scythe Mastery, and Mysticism.

My skill bar is...

Erumite's Attack.
Deals +X damage for each enemy near your target. Max 30. (Usually gives me about 50+ damage even with only level 11 and an 8-17 scythe)
Chilling Victory.
Deals +X damage, and deals Y Cold damage. But only if you have more health than your target. (Usually not a problem)
Thrill of Victory.
Melee Attack dealing +X damage if you have more health than your target.
"Watch Yourself"
Plus 20 armor for X seconds.
"Shields Up!"
Lets face it, there are lots of projectile attacks in Nightfall... Gives for X seconds a 50% chance to block projectiles and +50 armor against piercing damage.
Healing Signet.
Yeah, you know it warriors. Heals you for X ammount (About 96 or something where I have it right now)
Imbue Health
Heal target other ally for X percent of your current health. (I like it. It's saved my monk more times than I care to admit)
Sunspear Return Signet.
Yeah, the much better Ressurection Signet. Always use it.

That's what I got so far. I'm sure this will change as I get onto the mainland. As is though I'm kicking the ass of just about everything I run into. Only problems seem to occur when I face massive degen and get four people swinging away on me... but that's more of my fault.

What you optimally want to do is send in the goon patrol. Your warrior, monk, whatever. Watch the mob key into them... find the tightest knot of enemies you can and slam into them with those three attack skills.

That nearly finishes off anything I never find.

If you find yourself in a long fight you got the defensive bonuses of "Watch Yourself!" and "Shields Up!" to see you through. Healing signet is always a good choice. Use it early on if you start taking damage because those enemies will key onto you quickly if you show them the slightest weakness in your HP.

And of course, Imbue Health for those moments you see your monk going down. Or anyone else. It is currently a good 84 health heal for 10 energy. Not optimal, but it's saved Dunkoro's ass more times than I can recall.

Sunspear Return Signet is about the best battle rez skill you could possibly ask for, wel, other than a hard rez. I know I love the Paragon signet.

Edit:

Occasionally I switch out the "Shields up!" for Rending Touch, or Twin Moon Sweep. I want my armor bonus, so I need to not be enchanted. Of coruse my monk has enchantments he likes to toss on me. Either one can get rid of an unwanted/unneeded enchantment, either stripping an opponents (Very hand for thos evil monk bosses) or giving you two attacks and a heal (Also nice).

I'm thinking once I wash up in Kourna I might permanently replace "Shields Up!" with one of the Avatar forms. However I'm not sure if they count as 'enchantments'. I'm thinking no, because I doubt Anet would want someone just reveal enchantmenting it and having some mesmer turn into Balthazar...

And of course, I have no idea what any of the Avatars do. Except Melandru's. I think that was some "You have 600 HP, and are immune to all conditions".

*Shrug*

I'll find out soon enough I suppose.

Yeah, the avatars aren't enchantments. They're a new skill type of "Form".
As far as I know there's no skill in the game that removes a form.

hmmm... I wonder if that Avatar of Melandru will make you immune to the effects of lava?
Could make for a pretty powerful runner for our guild hall.

Exactly. According to one of the PAers in the alliance, Melandru is one of the strongest forms (If not the strongest). But yeah, no conditions means it should make an awesome flag runner. No worries about Lava. No worries about some Cripshot ranger... No worries about some of those Assassin Condition stackers I've seen. emoticon
