You may also want to consider no points in Monk and put them in spear instead. I know Wild Throw would be a useful skill to bring along and if you go the adrenaline route you won't be effecting your energy pool.
Also Blazing Spear can guarantee that Glowing Signet gets you the energy you need when you need it.

As much as I like prot spirit, I'm not sure it would work too well here. With all the damage reducing chants and bonding, I'm not sure that preventing damage over 50-60 would be all that effective. I think the damage will probably coming through in a lot of small chunks.

Plus I'd like to keep it to 5 energy skills if possible. At least until I can get a feel for how the e-management will work out.

Since we'll have a lot of enchantments flying around, I was thinking of going healing with Dwayna's Kiss.

As far as switching to Spear is concerned, I'm a little leery of getting near the front lines when I'm using Angelic Bond.
All I need is a couple of enemies to switch to me, and I could go down quick.

Yeah thats true, I haven't played a Paragon much I guess their attacks are like at half normal range like some of the Sin Dagger spells? I know they can't hit at far range at least so that would be a concern.
Signet of Rejuvenation is the only other thing that comes to mind.

I was thinking along that line too.

I've updated the original post with the latest build.

Nah, Spear attacks don't have Range limitations. Other than the normal range limit of Spear attacks which seems to be something like 3 steps inside the range of the Aggro bubble.

I only mentioned Smite spells because, well, you already put points into Smite for Balthazar's Spirit there. As long as you have the three in there, and a zero in the others, why not? *shrug* But that was before you updated it.

Warriors hold aggro very easily when the rest of the team knows what to do.

The warrior get's the rest of the team completely out of his aggro bubble, while protted as much as possible. He lets the enemy patrol path walk to him - not he walks to them - and the rest is easy. The enemy AI will begin to hammer him. The tank CAN NOT MOVE. The rest of the team can then safely move to the very edge of the enemy aggro and begin to open fire. Monks should never have an enemy in their aggro bubble at all. At that point, the Meteor Showers begin to rain down, keeping the Mobs more or less in place. If a mob breaks aggro from the tank, the tank needs to move ever so slightly while the rest of the team backs off as much as possible. That little movement, coupled with the new target leaving aggro range is usually enough to regain the aggro on the tank and to repeat the AoE burnfest. It shouldn't take more than a round or two to level a decent sized mob, if there is enough damage involved.

Now, I say all of this with plenty of experience tanking - true tanking, as in aggro magnet, not just playing a warrior and calling it a tank - but I will offer the simple caveat that I have no idea how the DoA mobs will react other than from what I have read. If they hold true to previous GW mobs, it shouldn't be an issue. It's just up to the rest of the team to not follow the warrior into aggro range, forming an aggro chain back to them.

Typically what makes it impossible for a warrior to tank properly is the rest of his team. When the mobs select a target, there can be no one else in either their aggro bubble OR THE WARRIORS bubble. If there is someone else in the tanks bubble, even if they are not yet in the mobs bubble, it will create what is called an aggro bridge, and the mobs will move right past the tank to the more inviting targets. Too many times I have tried to tank and my caster teammates have thought they were safe because the mobs weren't in THEIR bubble, and suddenly found themselves on the wrong end of an aggro bridge. It also leaves the tank standing there, looking useless, which is quite a terrbile feeling, I might add.

Anyway, that's aggro management 101 for ya. emoticon

Good stuff to know.
I had no idea about that "aggro bridge" thing.

Probably a good idea to do a few warm-up rounds in some hard mode areas just to get the technique and timing down.

How about we do Floodplains in Kourna?

*Not at all biased in his suggestion to help his Vanquisher title*

The whole aggro management thing is very tricky to do with a PUG. I have only successful played the proper tank when in guild/alliance groups. It is weird to say this, but it is a huge rush when it works correctly. Targets really do drop pretty quick because all the casters are just firing away and not spending any time kiting. Plus, the targets are easier to acquire for everyone because they are clumped around the tin can.

This sounds really, really odd...

But I have to ask... what happens when someone uses that Life Bond thing that redirects half damage to them that you take, and you use Angelic Bond on them?

Does this blow up Guild Wars?

Does it create an "Infinite Damage Loop" until you take zero damage?

Does it really just Not Work and sucks big time?

Has anyone ever tested this out?
