don't wait till the last day to buy the game because because some of those patches are around 2 gig and it takes a long time to download.
my dsl is only 1 Mbit/sec and it took several hours to download all the patches.
by the way; 2 of the largest patches (2 gig, give or take) aren't patches at all: they are complete game rewrites.
i never did purchase the game with the disc when i bought it. i bougth it and downloaded from direct2drive.com.
and while i was downloading the 2nd large 'patch' our county and a few others in my area lost dsl for about 36 hours. something about fiber optic troubles.
hope to see you guys sunday the 19th (barring any life surprises).

Re: Company of Heroes So Pyx, I want to make sure I understood you correctly last night. I need to install all of the patches for both games (I got the Gold addition) and not just the newest one? I had hoped it was like bf1942 and the newest patch would include all the info from older patches. I set up Utorrent to download them all (19) last night and it was still working on the last two big ones this morning. I'll start the install when I get home tonight unless I get sucked in to WH again like I did last night when I was just logging in to check the auction house.

I don't know about downloading them or what you would have to do.
If you run the game, setup an online account, and try to connect to play online all necessary updates will be downloaded and applied. This is the only way I have ever updated the game. I know they do not combine their updates. Installing CoH on this new machine I had 5-6 updates that ran. Basically would try to play online after each update and another one would be available. I recommend updating the game this way, not familiar with any other way of doing it.
i may have misunderstood but it looks by your words that u think keegen is not doing the patch the 'automatic' way [by logging in to multiplayer] because u see he is using 'Utorrent'. [a probable faulty assumption on my part.]
when i just reinstalled CoH this week it automatically set up Utorrent for me also.
i am wondering that if that seems different to u then maybe u don't have the latest patch.
just wondering and i am probably reading into your response to Keegen.

ps. i Dislike that Relic uses Incremental patches and Not Cumulative. would save alot of bandwidth {and time} if they would use Cumulative patches like alot of other games do.
of course they're Not really Patches when the Patch is larger than the Original Game. LOL.
Re: Company of Heroes Oh ok, maybe I'll try that tonight. I didn't even try to start the game after I got it installed because I ended up in that WH city siege instead. When you put the cd in the drive, one of the options is "update". That just takes you to a web page with all the patches listed (oldest to newest). They are what I was downloading last night. I think I'll try installing the newest one when I get home and then run the game and see what happens.
