hey Pyx,

can't remember if it was u or me that had trouble running CoH as a server last time.

if u are running a firewall on your router u need to have ports 6112 and 9102 open.

[edit: some websites say also port 30260]

pasting info below for program u can download to check if ports are open.

go to:
http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm
to download.
-------------
To Test If Your Port Is Open

Download our PFPortCheck Program
Install PFPortCheck
Run PFPortCheck. Type in the port that you want to check, choose UDP or TCP, and click the Check Me button
Why Our Open Port Check Tool Is Better

Most online port checks assume that you already have an application (such as your game or torrent) listening for the port test on your computer, and then assume that the test was OK simply because they were able to connect to your computer.

Also, web only port checkers are not able to test UDP since UDP is a connectionless protocol and there is no way to know if the packet actually made it to your computer without some sort of program on your computer waiting for that packet.

Our port test uses a local application to listen for the server trying to connect and the positively verifies that your port is forwarded.

In other words, with our open port check tool you never get a false positive!

they are open and work on both tcp and udp.

Ok so it was a bit overwhelming the first try but I had a good time. Will be a little easier once I figure out what is needed to build different types of units. I'd feel much more at home if there was a unit of Dwarf Axe Men. emoticon

Re: Company of Heroes

hi guys,

don't know if u guys were/are interested in another CoH match this Sunday [26 April] or not.

i am currently under-the-weather. i have some serious teeth problems. i either need a root canal or 1 or more teeth need pulled. i go to dentist early this week. man, nothing gets a person's attention like severe tooth/gum pain.

just started taking some pills but don't know if they will curb the discomfort enough for me to play or not.

should know by 2morrow [sunday] noon whether i am fit to play or not in case u guys were interested.

i will check back on this forum for your collective replies of interest and/or disinterest on a sunday evening or late afternoon match.

later,
sam/vetguy
