Re: D&D Online now free to play. Got some running around to do this afternoon but I'm going to try and be there. I think Keegen is just out of the newbie tutorial.
--- Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.
That way, when you criticize them you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
Re: D&D Online now free to play. Well, that was fun! Look forward to doing it again with a few more people. I have a lot of reading to do. Need to learn a little more about were to put action points and when (or if) I should branch into a second class. A little more thinking invoved in this game. Thinking is not one of my strong points. ;-)

Actually it sucked! For me anyway Glad you guys had fun with it.
Oh well, so much for plans.
I did get to play a little bit with Keith on friday, which was fun. Hopefully I can make it with the rest of the gang next week.
Re: D&D Online now free to play. I had fun, but yeah lots of decisions to be made, not casual friendly if you want to have some idea of what you are doing.
Still was fun getting together.
Re: D&D Online now free to play. Thanks Pyx, this will give me something to read at work tomorrow.

Re: D&D Online now free to play. I think melee is very different without the auto-run towards targets. Ranged probably isn't as big a difference.
I also read you get a -4 modifier to hit while moving, so you can't just run at stuff swinging wildly.
I checked the DDO store last night and noticed I had 75 points to spend. The Sigil to buy levels 4-8 is usually 50 points, but they have it on sale for 34 so I bought that. The Sigil for 8-12 costs 75, so may rather wait and buy that, but I figured if I get to level 8 I'll spend a few bucks if I need to.
I wasn't expecting to like this game very much, but I do like the depth of options available. Once you get your bearings and have an idea of what you want to do while you level it is pretty neat.
I got to lvl3 last night to catch up with Keith. That unlocked all the lvl2 spells so now I can mem 4 lvl 1 spells and 3 lvl 2 spells.
