So what is the consensus? Anyone ready to say Aion is a real winner or not? Is it a great game that is a gotta have once I get to the new house?

Re: Aion Review

It's going to boil down to gaming preffrence.

Personally...I'm sold, but I've felt that way for some time. I'm really enjoying the flow of the game, even when questing solo. I love the crafting system. I can't say enough about the graphics. They are amazing and run suprisingly smooth on my computer thats coming up on 6 years old (built it to play Guild Wars). I have made some video upgrades on the PC but other than that its the same machine.

We are currently in a, what i would call good guild. They are very active and infact got my first taste of group play yesterday. Which solidified my feelings of the game. I had an absolute blast.

Jury is out on the pvp, since you have to be lv 25 to participate, but I'm at lv 19 so it wont be too much longer.

All in all, besides some badly designed quests and some launch issues it's been one of if not the smoothest releases I have been a part of.

Some people are complaining about the amount of time it takes to lv. Some are calling it a Grindfest. Those people are typically comparing the game to World of Warcraft and in that sense this game is a grindfest since a trained monkey can get to max lv in WoW in less than a month.

Hope this semi-review helps. If you have any questions let me know.

I already paid for 6 months, so I'll be playing it a while. I am having fun playing it. I run everything max with very little issues, and haven't had any Crysystem.dll crashes since Open Beta. Looks better than WHO and runs so much better on my machine as well. I like the PVE portions of the game and you got plenty of places to go after you hit lvl20. Very few lag issues compared to China.
I hope you decide to pick it up and give it a whirl.

I'll just add a "ditto" to what Gard and Pyx had to say. The only real thing that has been bugging me is the fact that through all the betas and playing the China Aion, I must have made 8 or 10 characters and never once got one past level 18. So the first week has really been kind of "been there done that" for me. I did get into a Kral group last night for the first time and thanks to several guildies, including Gard and Pyx, had a great time and just hit level 19 so I'm looking forward to finally seeing some new content. That been said, I do have an alt sitting at level one ready to help power through the early levels, when ever you get settled in the new house. emoticon
