That's what I used - Get Data Back. It was a bit costly, but I got everything back when my external exploded earlier this year.

Doubt that will help. The drive is the secondary drive but when installed, the computer will not boot. (Just makes chunking noises.)
Implies it is a drive electronics issue and not the media.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
