My claim to fame is.........
I am John's cousin. We both lived in Ibiza until my parent's decided to move back to the UK. I used to hang around with John a lot in Ibiza and now only see him once in a while when he goes back home to see his parents in Blackpool.
I am immensely proud of him and just wanted to share that with you. When I get a minute I will post a pic up of John with my dad taken a couple of year's ago.

I used to work for JS' Mum & Dad in Blackpool, and JS' sister worked there too. Would have been about 1990.
I can remember getting a phone call asking to speak to to JS' parents. The guy on the other end of the phone said "Hi it's David can I speak to ***".
I said "David Who?", he replied "David Coverdale".
"David who?" I asked again.
"Coverdale" came the reply.
I then shouted out to JS' parents - "it's some bloke called David Coverdale on the phone for you."
I then remembered who David Coverdale was.
Oops.
Working where I did (there was only about 6 of us including JS' parents and sister) I got to hear some great stories that I will keep to myself. I left because the pay was shocking, and the conditions even worse. I was breating in terrible fumes all day and have had health problems ever since.

You sure you weren't being had? Why would David Coverdale ring john's parents place of work? Even more so 3 or 4 years after they stopped talking to each other?

It was in the days before mobile phones became popular. JS' parents owned and ran the tiny printing company. They also had a recording studio in Blackpool (at the house I think) that JS used to use - so I'm guessing that DC would just want to pass on a message or perhaps just see what the situation was. I was also told that he had called RS before to speak about JS. At the time, I didn't have much of a clue who JS was, and wasn't into WS.
