Should say a bit more about them...

A speed/extreme/power/melodic metal band. I really love their music - it does have cheesy lyrics at times, but is very catchy and uplifting, as well as heavy! emoticon They do 5 or 6 solos per song, so it is great for air-guitar!

Of their two albums I recommend the second one the best (Sonic Firestorm).

Re: Dragonforce...

I first heard them on a Classic Rock sampler CD a while back and was blown away. Unbelievably good musicianship, very melodic but heavy sound.

But... I've since heard Sonic Firestorm and I think it all gets a bit "samey" after a while. Would like to hear the new one though.

Had a real Dragonforce fest yesterday afternoon!! Aside from the final track, the new CD is more extreme than ever before!! :cheeky:  This band truly is amazing and I can't wait to see them play live soon - it'll be at the same venue as Dio played in back in October: will my hearing ever recover this time??!!

Simon, I think your hearing will stand more of as chance this time as you wont be with some crazy woman only a foot away from the speakers! The things some folks will do for a good old oggle!Better clarify that- it was me NOT Simon making eyes at Doug Aldrich!!

That sounds like just the ticket then Carol

DragonForce are playin' the same venue in Belfast as Dio....500 people! Took my ears 3 days to recover from Mr. Aldrich shredding them ( that guy CAN REALLY PLAY) and a nice guy into the bargain, even posed for a pic with Samby before the gig.....if DF are half as good it'll be well worth it, and i'm sure John 'n' Scott will blow any of my cobwebs away at the city hall.......If it's too loud i'll be too old.....so i keep telln' people anyway  emoticon
