Re: Schenker On Tour!
Is anyone planning on seeing MSG in Glasgow in May? Lauren and I were thinking about going up for the gig but will have to look at our bank balances!
We are already forking out a small fortune to have a weekend in Glasgow for Bon Jovi at the beginning of June, then there's the WS gigs (worth every penny for Doug of course!   ) and Lauren is looking for a summer job so it all depends on that really.
Just wondering if anyone has seen Schenker perform recently? I have been out of touch with his stuff for some time- thanks Simon for sharing some of the more recent work he's done with others. He still has it!Weird guy  but an amazing guitarist

Hmm, maybe I can make the Glasgow gig. If so, I could drive us up there and back.
The man is a legend. Life would not be the same without his music. His touch and sense of melody is unique. I am really looking forward to hearing the new album!

Re: Schenker On Tour!
When is the Schenker album out, Simon?
It's very tempting to go up to see him as he really is an amazing guitarist- Lauren's second fave too! About fifth on my all time faves list behind Frampton, JS, Doug( be still my beating heart  :love Aldrich and Alex Lifeson.
I suppose, apart from the money, the main thing that's making me hesitate is his track record of not turning up for performances. :tdn: :rolleye: Been there, done it on more than one occasion! :shake:

Re: Schenker On Tour!
I think the new CD comes out April 28th.
Schenker "did one" on me a few years ago. I only had a 5-hour round trip for nothing. He's better off out of UFO now - I think Phil Mogg just existed to wind him up and took it too far (ring any bells?! )

Yes, I plan to be there.

Saw him in Glasgow on the last UFO UK tour, which culminated (early) in that infamous Manchester show.
Good show, but you could sense that trouble was ahead!
I bought tickets for a MSG/Glenn Hughes tour a few years back which was cancelled. I bought tickets for the Legends of Rock 2002 tour, partally because Schenker was on the bill (he dropped out).
Here's hoping the Glasgow show goes ahead, but I'm not holding my breath.

Re: Schenker On Tour!
Big J, I do hope that Schenker turns up and that you really enjoy the gig.
Simon, thanks very much for the offer of transport to/from Glasgow but Lauren and I have decided against going up as I just noticed it's Peter's birthday weekend and we would've had to do too much re-organising of parties, etc. IMHO,just not worth it for someone who has a track record of letting fans down :rolleye: no matter how amazing they play guitar!

Re: Schenker On Tour!
So did anyone go to any of the concerts and how does Mikey sound these days? Did he even bother to turn up? That has to be a bonus!   :rolleye:
