Re: Aloe vera information.

Ive got about a dozen aloe plants shrew and i really dont do anything to them, probably the easiest plant to grow that ive ever had.

9nails ive not really noticed it smelling much apart from when i took of this dead lookin leaf and the juice smelled like urine, maybe its only when it dries out.

One thing ive wondered about my aloe plants tho is why they grow all 2d lookin, like the leaves only grow out of opposite ends when there supposed to come out all over the place?

hmm...well I know there is a plant that looks ver similair to the aloe plant but only grows leafs on oposite sides like you discribe. I think you have a different plant. It could an aloe plant but not an aloe vera plant.
The fact that you said it doesn't smell tells me is something else.
Is is possible to take pics?

I don't know. But why not look for aloe vera shampoo? I'll bet that is out there too.

Some aloes grow that way...there are many different types of aloes. I have a couple that grow like that, too. I've also got a huge 2 foot aloe in my bathroom :)...it's getting out of hand...hehehe, or should I say too big for it's space...we just may have to move it into the dining room! It was just a baby about four years ago, and it is one of the only ones that survived our move this last spring. We lost 46 plants and herbs emoticon because of a freakish blizzard that happened...poor babies.

You can also purchase aloe gel caps. Just pop a couple of them open with a pin when you're in the shower and apply it to your head....works great, and you can take them anywhere!

I don't know...hmmmm...I bet it would be alright if it doesn't read "moisturizing" on the label. I don't think it would hurt at all to give it a try.

Also, like 9 wrote, I bet you could find some aloe shampoo somewhere.

Good luck!

Re: Aloe vera information.

Ive had this aloe vera plan for a few months (maybe 6-7)(I got it when it was a few weeks old) and through the winter it looked kinda bad, but looks WAY better now.

I noticed (since it started looking better) the plant is a lot less firm.

Is that normal?
