Everything sounds the same..absolutely no originality. People's voice's are so altered by machines, it sounds like a robot is singing. Whatever happened to REAL music?

Oh..and Beyonce annoys the living hell out of me. The way she sings in that "shoulda put a ring on it" song, is like nails on a chalk board. That is all. emoticon emoticon

I like the frampton talk box pedal i think that sounds cool as ****, but **** beyounce.
I think its kind of hard to come up with something orignal, Alot of the songs use the same chord progression all the time theres been like 30 songs written that use the chords A E D,they just change the words or melody. I think some people have trouble creating there own style, from even listening to their favorite bands. i dunno what im saying, sorry jazz is slowly dieing.

jazz and soul i love. i still break out my vinyl and listen to all that stuff. billie holiday and otis redding had such classic voices.

the talk box pedal is cool..but i'm talking about all the stuff out on the radio nowadays. people will sing and then there voice will sound all electronic and cheesy. i don't even know their names, so i can't give an example.

also, sampling is cool...but some people just use a sample for the whole song and then just sing on top of it. drives me crazy.

I grew up with punk music. When I was in the 6th grade (in the 80's) I was listening to G.B.H. and The Clash.

In the early 90's, I was surrounded by the punk rock scene in D.C. ie - lived in a group home with a bunch of musicians on Dischord label and I was one of the original Riot Girls. D.C. was the place to be back then.

This is a video on my old neighborhood and house known as "The Embassy".

Um what?

Soulive
Medeski, Martin, and Wood
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
Phronesis
Billy Cobham
Bobby Previte
Sonny Rollins
Chick Corea
Al Di Meola
Jon McLaughlin
Dave Brubeck Quartet
Larry Coryell
Stephon Harris
Toots Thielemans
Dave Holland

Jazz isn't even close to dying. A lot of the great masters are still around doing their thing as well as lots of new modern acts that are really great. But anyway, yeah there's lots of crappy music around. I just ignore it emoticon

The scary thing is this:

Even though there are more and more bands out there, there is less and less music that is actually good!!

It's like sifting through 10 pounds of crap to find a quarter-dollar.
