Muslims requesting Sharia Law in the UK

Muslims are now requesting that the UK adopt Sharia Law to deal with their legal disputes. Thoughts?

I personally think it is ****ing arrogant and rude of them to be in a 'christian' country and demand that ****. If I demanded some christian law in Dubai, they would tell me to shut up or GTFO. **** in saudi they might chop your head off or something(seriously). If they wanted their law, move to saudi or something.

well they didnt really go into the details, but women not being allowed to be educated was what I was talking about. I think if women were accused of learning to read they'd tie them to the goal posts of their soccer field and shoot them in afghanistan, but the Taliban got forced out. Im probably merging a few things together there though so im not sure how acurate it is.

There's different implementations, Malayia has a large amount of women in the public life, employed as teachers, police officers, doctors etc while still having sharia law for muslims.

I don't agree with it, there'll never be any serious proposal in the UK or AU (it's been raised everytime here that it has in the UK), not to mention it's incompatible with our common law system as it stands.

It's only a minority that bring it up every time, just like the Australian Christian Lobby bring up some crazy **** every second day.

What a lot of westerners think of as 'sharia' are actually just cultural practices from tribal traditions or from certain geo-cultural areas, ie. in Afghanistan, a nation that has a ****load of archaic tribal practices that flow on into their 'religious beliefs'.

To be completely honest though, I'm not quite sure and I'm slightly confused as to if they're trying to get this law to work for muslims only or for everyone since I honestly couldn't be too bothered to really go in and check it out or whatever, and if they do get it for muslims only, what's to stop them from applying it to a non-muslim, for example if some christian dude steals from a muslim home, would they chop his hands off or something? Or say a muslim decides they're done with it and is now a hindu or something and married some indian guy, does it give them the right to stone/behead or whatever it may be for 'honor'?

Apparently, in australia, gangs of muslim men gangrape aussie women and claim that they deserved it because they don't dress proper or something...I mean. Really. GTFO....and they're trying to push the sharia law there as well, but how the **** do you expect them to have any respect for you if you show them(the host) no respect at all?

it's mostly media sensationalism applying to australias pretty big racist streak. sharia only applies to muslims too, it'd go against the quran to enforce it on christians and jews and alike, there's many references to respecting jews and christians, obviously some cultures respect certain aspects of the quran more so and some less so.

but lets be serious emoticon

, it'd never happen in a western country.

we have enough on our plate dealing with traditional indigenous law and the ****storm that creates when it's brought up, sharia would NEVER be implemented. EVER. it's laughable to consider, it's scaremongering by press and a society of fear to propagate 'concerns' of it happening.
