 Witchcraft/Paganism

Anyone here practice or beleive in Paganism or Witchcraft? I can say I've been a non-practicing Pagan for about three years now. I know it's crazy, how can you not "practice" your "beleif" or "faith" or "spirituality" for three years? Well, I just haven't been doing the whole "spell" thing. I understand that some people beleive that spells are "silly". Then again, people also beleive that prayer is "silly". There's pratically no difference between "spells" and "prayer". Though many beleive there is a huge difference...

I'm not here to preach, just asking if anyone here follows anyone of the beleifs that have to do with Earth religions a.k.a. Paganism. I'm really interested in African religion, or African based Paganism because of my ancestors, I guess. I'm into ancient Egyptian practices...it's hard to know EXACTLY what they did, but hey, it's hard to know exactly what anyone ever did that long ago...

I'm also really into the teachings of the Buddha, very fascinating, i like reading up on that stuff.

ok enough of my rambling, back to the main question. So.....

Re: Paganism

Always been interested in Paganism, but I've never gotten into it enough. Explain some mama, if you care to share. I like to hear about it, because I know a lot of it revolves around herbalism.

Re: Paganism

emoticon @ the herbalism hehehe

Well, I'm no Paganism expert, but the most I know is the basics really; the fundamentals; or should I say common sense:

-Try not to harm anyone; including yourself
-respect the Earth; don't litter, recycle, reuse, reduce, etc. blah...emoticon

And about ritual well, Paganism is so incredibally vast (about as complicated as Christianity...with all the different sects)...
There are all types of "spells" or rituals...there are candle spells, rope spells, herb spells/rituals, healing, love, Earth spells, etc... but of course it isn't all about spells...

I seriosly couldn't explain it all to you in even five or ten posts, emoticon. Allz I can dooz is give you a link with some good info on Paganism...it's just too vast...

Re: Witchcraft/Paganism

We celebrate most of the Pagan "holidays" although I am just learning! The women's group that I meet with has 2 witches and they are teachimg me a great deal. I just love how earth-centered the spirituality is.

Hazel- there is a local lady here (well, where I live) that is a fantastic herbalist and she follows a lot of Pagan ways i guess you would say. Her company is Herbs from the Labyrinth. Her name is Sarah Campbell. She has an informative web site - you may have to google it - she's in Lancaster, PA. Let me know what ya think of it! :sunny:

Speaking of which.... has anyone done a labyrinth walk? I do it once a month and it is so great.....it's basically a walking meditation, but you feel yourself go into a center of yourself and then work your way out!

Re: Witchcraft/Paganism

im really interested in the spiritual use of herbs, but i dont know much at all about herbs , one thing at a time tho.
im interested in shamanism, but whats in a name. i offer water and bread to my ancestors and meditate on the earth immediatly around me, no matter what name it goes under i kno im developing a strong personal connection with the earth and the power or "magik" it holds. indignous african religions form the basis of what i have discovered so far.
