Would God want us to disrspect the Sacred Beliefs of others? Or respect them?
Would humans want us to disrspect the Sacred Beliefs of others? Or respect them?

My main question to "RedeemeDONE" is what about beliefs that are just ****ing stupid? Does a belief or "faith" merit respect simply because someone believes or has faith? I say not.
Through humans, ideas have potential as reality, and many ideas are dangerous, and some are just plain stupid.
I'm not going to respect someone's belief or faith that the world is flat, because I find it to be a stupid belief with no merit. So what if someone holds it to be "sacred"?

First off, why discuss what "god" wants if he won't show up? You're working with a couple of unsupported a priori assumptions.
1) God. Show some evidence, or let him show up himself...it would seem less like people talking to their imaginary friends.
2) Anthropomorphic "god". If there is a "god", why would we necessarily think of "it/him/her" as a gendered, anthropomorphic entity? "God" would just as likely be in the form of an ant, since they are more successful (survival-wise) than humans (in Brazil, ants outweigh all mammals by about 3-1)

The real question here is-
Is an Atheist or Agnostic considered to have spiritual or sacred beliefs and rights?
And if so, is he or she being disrespected by repeatedly being subjected to attempts to be persuaded into another faith?
Would Jesus do that?
If I continually posted pronouncements that Allah is the one true God and Muhammad is his one true prophet... Muhammad is the only only path to happiness and enlightenment... would this be welcomed without argument?
Would this be considered disrespectful to your sacred beliefs?
Have I mentioned that I love you?

I use the word "god" on a sliding scale depending who I'm talking to. In my own mind, the definition is much different than the prevailing omniscient being, replaced with "nature" or "the universe" or "the nature of the universe" etc.
tbg is not out of line in loudly rejecting ro's statements.
or transversely...
if tbg is at all inappropriate, then ro is as well for repeatedly posting his own passions, perhaps more so for doing so outside of philosophical streams.
