Re: Found out I need oral surgery next week & freaked the hell out!
dude, what on earth is a benzo?? my son has sealants on his teeth. we do have dental insurance, but our dentist who we normally see..does not do sedation dentistry. plus, i wanted to go to a specialist and the fact that my co-worker highly recommended him and felt NO pain while having his teeth worked on, made me feel a bit better. this specialist does not take insurance (go figure!), so i used my care credit card. have you heard of it? my co-worker turned me on to it. you and even your fam can use it at any doctor/dentist. you can even use it at the vet! it's interest free for up to a year! my procedure is $1100, is i will pay about $91 a month. paying extra for sedation is totally worth it to me. i am a ****ing chicken!

if they're pulling teeth out, you don't get put to sleep here. you'll have to bare with the sound (you get shots to numb the nerves though). Same with the drilling and that ****. dunno if they're cutting and whatnot, maybe then you'll get put to sleep.
ugh, I don't like the dentist either. Best of luck to ya!
the last time i had a filling they gave me 8 shots of novacaine and i could still feel it...
they didn't pull teeth. they had to cut some of the flesh from my pallet and stitch it onto my gum by my back molars.
i have such a high tolerance to drugs...it took my co-worker 1 pill to get zonked out and it took me 5! even after that, i could still feel them jab the elephant size needle into the roof of my mouth (just feel how hard it is with your tongue...). thank god i didn't feel them do the slicing or stitching.
my gum swelled up like crazy..about 3 times the size. i got my stitches out last friday and my mouth is still healing.
tnx for the luck

i still have a bit of sensitivity in gum, where they did the graft BUT doc said it can take 3-6 months to heal. the pain i was having in side of face/ear (from exposed nerve) is gone, though
