This is my first post. I have browsed about the site a few times now and it seems pretty cool and very informative!
My plan is to go from short hair (7mm as it is now) to some sort of natural locks in around 18 months. I have dark, thick straight/wavy hair.
When it gets to a couple of inches what do you think would be the best thing to do to encourage my hair to tangle?
Shall i just leave it and see what happens?, use salt water or natural shampoos etc. Im not worried about how long it will take as it does grow real quick (about 2/3rds of a inch per month)
… Welcome to the boards, IrieChris. If you want natural looking locks, just throw away the comb. Short hair may not knot until around 7 or 8 inches (dpending on the hair type), so you could also loosely back comb to give them a kick start (which I did to my hair). Just don't use conditioner, since it'll make your hair slippery and slow down the process. Good luck!
… yelp just don't worry about mirrors....and throw away your comb, your hair locks with time unless ur gonna get sum kinda backcomb or twist n rip method just go natural!
