Courfeyrac smiles back sadly in return, and offers Grantaire a hand to help him to his feet. “Don’t worry, Grantaire. It’ll all come back to you.” He’s not exactly sure this is true, but hey, he figures the amnesiac cynic needs some comforting right now.

"Good idea." Courfeyrac agrees. "Steady there, Grantaire." he says, holding the cynic's shoulder as the other man sways. "C'mon, the cafe is this way." The redhead holds the cynic by the shoulder and arm and leads him down the road.

Grantaire allows himself to be lead, eyes flitting everywhere on the street as if seeing everything for the first time which, in a way, he is. They finally reach the Cafe and enter, the bell chiming. Joly and Bossuet are sitting in the middle of the room, talking quietly. They look up as the trio enters, and Bossuet's face splits into a grin as Joly smiles as well.
"'Chetta!" Bossuet cries, hurrying forward. Grantaire is startled by the Eagle's enthusiasm, and hides behind Courfeyrac. Bossuet pauses at this odd reaction, and stares. "What's the matter with you, Grantaire?" he asks with a frown.

'Chetta giggles for a moment as Bossuet grabs her by the waist.
"He's a bit out of it... alright, that's quite the understatement. He's very out of it. In fact, he's lost his memory..." Musichetta answers for him, sighing. She wasn't sure how else to put it, without making the whole statement sound like a joke.

Bossuet looks from Musichetta to Grantaire and back again, bewildered.
"Lost his memory?" the Eagle asks. "How did that happen?"
"Knowing Grantaire, I doubt they know." Joly says, approaching the group more slowly so as not to startled the amnesiac man. He smiles kindly at the cynic. "Hello Marcelin," He uses Grantaire's Christian name, to seem more friendly. "I'm Marcus Joly." He holds out a hand. "Will you permit me to examine you to see what sort of ailment you have?"
Grantaire looks nervously at Bossuet and Musichetta, befor turning his gaze on Joly. He hesitates a moment before taking the doctor's hand and steping out from behind Courfeyrac. Joly continues to smile warmly at Grantaire as he leads him over to a chair.
"Just go ahead and take a seat." he instructs, and Grantaire obeys. Joly begins to look over the cynic, feeling around the other man's head for any sort of fracture. When his hands encounter a lump at the back of Grantaire's head, the brvnette lets out a whimper, wincing away from Joly's hands. "Sorry about that, Marcelin." Joly apologizes, moving his hands away. "But it looks like we found where you were struck anyway." The hypochondriac adjusts his glasses on his nose before leaning down to peer into Grantaire's eyes, assesing the damage. "Well, other than that lump and your loss of memory, you seem to be fine. Now, I don't know whether this is temporary amnesia or not...that will take a while to find out."
Grantaire pales considerably at this. "What...what if it's not temporary?" he asks in a small voice.
