No Good, Very Bad Day
Musichetta fumes as she gathers her dirty skirts in her hand, rushing to get home as the rain started pouring down. Her fingers are curled tightly around her torn gloves and her curly hair is damp. Suddenly, she feels something brush by her skirts. A gamin suddenly bolts off, clutching something to his chest.
"That's my purse!!"

Grantaire steps out from the alley-way just in time to have some street gamin run right into him. He stumbles slightly, catching the boy on the shoulder and glancing down at him, before looking toward the shouts. Stole her purse?
He looks down at the child, who looks back up at him defiantly.
“You’re gonna wanna give that back to the nice lady, lad.” he says, a bit sardonically. The gamin scrunches his face, as if he’s about to cry before he hangs his head.
“But Lacey’s dyin’ and we need th’ money…” the child says very softly.

Grantaire gives Musichetta his normal cynical smile in response to her greeting before he looks down to the gamin.
"Probably not." he says with his usual cynicism. The gamin looks up at the dark man and glares at him.
"Am so!" he protests. "Mama says she's got cholo...Chola...choleh..."
"Cholorrhea?" Grantaire suppys, with a raised eyerbow. The boy nods.
"Yeah, that." The boy looks at Musichetta, trying to explain. "Mama said that if we don't get a doctor soon, she'll die...but we don't have any money for a doctor." The boy drops his eyes to the ground, his voice gone suddenly soft. "...I'm sorry I stoled your purse."

She makes a face at Grantaire and Courfeyrac before looking at the boy again. "Here," she says finally, handing the boy some money. "It isn't much, but it should help some." 'Chetta manages a smile before standing up.

Grantaire smirks at Musichetta's look, but lets the boy go as the woman gives the gamin some money. The boy looks up to Musichetta, tears shining in big blue eyes before he scampers off and disappears around the corner.
"Well, there's your good deed for the day, Madamouselle." he says sardonically, before telling Courfeyrac. "You didn't miss a thing, actually. Where are you headed, Courfeyrac?"

Courfeyrac watches the boy rush off before turning back to Grantaire.
"I'm heading down to the docks. There's a fair going on today, and the Les Amis are meeting down there for the day. We're hoping Combeferre will be able to get Enjolras to come, because heaven only knows that man needs a day off." Courfeyrac pauses a moment to make eyes at a girl across the street who giggles and bats her eyelashes, before he turns back to the two of them and continues. "Would you like to come? You'll be welcome." He grins. "Even you, Grantaire, I should think."
