Grantaire grins craftily. "Ah, but Monseiur l'Inspector, how can you really be sure I'm drunk?"
And at this, he twists out of the jacket the Inspector has a hold of and snatches hat off the other mans head, dancing away deftly.
"Don't always trust your eyes, Monseiur!" Grantaire waves the Inspector's hat mockingly at him. "As you can see, some people are very, very good actors."

Javert frowned, but shrugged it off soon, not willing to give any more of his attention to the creature, with or without his hat. He turned back and that was when for a moment he lost self control and uttered a wonderfully creative curse better not to be repeated here. The coward and the gamin were gone.

Grantaire's eyebrows shot up a bit at the curseword from the inspector, but barily kept himself from uttering a sigh of relief. Well then! Grantaire nearly smirked.
'I guess that's one point for me and none for the Inspector.' he thought victoriously.
