"Oh thank you Papa! Thank you!" She runs back to Marius.
"Yes, yes." Valjean checks his pocket watch, his eyebrows raised. "It seems you've had more than enough time for today, have you not? Come, we're going home."
"In a moment Papa!" Cosette stands on tiptoe and whispers in Marius's ear. "I have to leave now, but come to see me tonight. At midnight."
"Cosette! Now!"
"I'll wait at the gate for you!" she whispers to him while quickly kissing his cheek, before hurrying over to her father.
