Re: TF cosplay from the web
And one of these weeks I will have more than ten seconds free to do an update.
(Argh, blimmin' new year scheduling.)
But much thanks, and I'll add these to the list.

Holy crap!!! Who threw this party and why wasn't I invited????
This pic is from the July 2004 Shinbun Japanese festival in Paris. Looks like they had a bunch of fun! The lineup is (I'mfairly sure) Starscream, Soundwave, Grimlock, Blurr, Optimus Prime, Mixmaster and Bone Crusher.

I'm not sure that I recognise this OP costume:
http://www.atb.hpg.ig.com.br/galeria/cosplay.html
I don't even know what country that is. Who gets the .br suffix to their web addresses?

Here's a Megatron I'm not sure I've seen before.

(The page it comes from, http://web.pitas.com/bbparanoias/25_05_2004.html , won't load for me.)

Love this guy:

I wonder if he ever finished the arms.

We've all seen Kelly Mark Delcambre's brilliant OP costume, but I really like this photo:

Re: TF cosplay from the web
Apparently there's a bunch of TF wandering around the Universal Studios theme park in California. I had no idea! They even have a Grimlock. Is it just me or is Grimlock popping up everywhere now?

This just doesn't look comfortable at all:

Re: TF cosplay from the web
These aren't costumes as such, but that Optimus Prime is big enough to be one.

The homemade Omega SUpreme and Devastator are cool too!!
And here's the plans:
http://jove.prohosting.com/~madanger/model/trans/trans.htm
And here's Hako Clones of a bunch of TF:
http://jove.prohosting.com/~madanger/model/hako/trans/hako-trans.htm
WEIRD!

Re: TF cosplay from the web
Here's another page with photos from that Japanese Fetsival in Paris last year.
http://miaka-island.chez.tiscali.fr/japan_expo.html
Apparently that Grimlock costume partially transforms. Looks like the guy inside kind've flips over the dino head and then rests his knuckles on the ground. I don't think his tail transforms.

Re: TF cosplay from the web
AT TFcon this year, Wayward (of www.insecticons.com) was there with a new costume, Bonecrusher. And I had a miniature prototype of my optimus prime costume sitting on my dealer table. Super-Articulated Spiderman 2 was wearing it.
Bonecrusher: http://www.insecticons.com/images/Way-BC-TFCon-01.jpg
http://www.insecticons.com/images/Wayward-Bonecrusher-00.jpg
And that Grimlock costume is win. a simple solution to something I was racking my brain over until I just gave up entirely. People don't care about show-accurate or complex transformations, just being able to do something is enough of a wow.
