Here's some pictures of my Optimus, Megatron, and Bumblebee-in-progress.http://www.geocities.com/cle1138
I try to make them as close to the cartoon as I could. Let me know what you think!

Re: TF cosplay from the web
Hey Marc-
I saw you on G4TV a few months back. It's nice to see one of us in the spotlite!
I sometimes use finishing pieces on the chests and things to make sure there are no pockmarks and stuff from sizing things. Mostly I use a Paper Mailing Tape that I can only find at the supermarket for some reason. I just recently found someone to get the thin cardboard from, so it's used very sparingly on the older costumes, but I will be probably using it more with Bumblebee because of the curvy parts on the chest and feet. Most of the cardboard I get is thick two-ply from the server boxes here at work. At least I know it's sturdy!
I've been playing around with a wood laquer before I paint and I've found it makes the cardboard so much smoother. What kind of paint do you use? I've been using latexes on the past couple, and though it may chip a little bit, I think it looks better than the spray paint on my Megs.
I was looking at the Starscream that you're building and was trying to figure out how you do the edges straight, so you just answered my question!

Re: TF cosplay from the web
How did you get that nice smooth look on the bumblebee face, was that from using the tape you were talking about?

Re: TF cosplay from the web
It's Duck Paper Mailing tape. It's really sticky. After I get it on as flat as I can, I go over it with my stylus to get it on as sealed as possible. I can only find it at Pick N' Save for some reason. No office supply store I've gone to has it. I'm going to try laquering it to see if it gives it more of a plastic look.

Re: TF cosplay from the web
hey do you have pics of the actual tape roll or do you have the company that make thoses ?
as for cardboard i actually go to a warehouse who specialise in cardboard sheets and boxes... i have acces to sheets about 4 x 3 feets !!
also there is allot of different quality level for carboard so that,s always something that i check... and also the price...

Re: TF cosplay from the web
I get all my cardboard from work. I have access to several grades from the shipping department, including a new kind of cardboard with honeycomped corrugation half an inch wide. I made some stilts out of the stuff, a foot tall and they weighed less than a pound.
That cardboard tape doesn't have fibreglass threads in it, too, does it? I have access to some of that stuff.
