Re: TF cosplay from the web
I think Duck makes the tape. There's no fibers, it's just like the outside of the cardboard. It usually comes on a cutting blade/spindle, but I usually throw it away as soon as I take it out of the grocery bag, so I don't remember what kind for sure, other than it's called 'Paper Mailing Tape'. I'll look next time I go to the supermarket. It's so strange that that's the only place I can find it, never at office supply, hardware, and art/craft stores.
I get my cardboard at work from the servers and printers. I can sometimes make a whole hip assembly from one sheet, minus the kibble. Plus my wife's aunt just got a job at a corrugated cardboard company.

Re: TF cosplay from the web
I had been planning on building a unicron costume this year, but I started too late, so I'm building a transformable grimlock, I have one arm done and have the upper body transforming, I should borrow a camera and take a few pics.

Re: TF cosplay from the web
the upper body is just like the toy, the lower body had to be modified a bit.

Re: TF cosplay from the web
So how is everyone doing a week before halloween.
I am rushing around like a mad man trying to get it done lol. So far the transformation works, it involves me falling to my knees and then folding my legs up but it looks pretty good, now I'm just working on putting a priming coat of paint on, and finishing some detail work.
Anyone else with an update on how their costumes are coming along.
I am probably going to take a look at digital cameras tomorrow so I might have some pictures to post in the next couple days.
