There's been a few people to make their own Soundwave costumes already. If you haven't seen them, did you want links for the sake of comparison? Or would you be happier going it alone and not seeing the other costumes?

Re: New, and need some advice on costume idea
Well, I've checked out the TFcosplay site thing-amabob that has it's own topic posted here, and I saw one of the SOundwave costumes, haven't seen the others.
Right now I've been using several comics and pictures of Soundwave from the Genesis book I got on hand, but pictures of the actual costumes would work well, give me ideas on how to go about stuff.

Re: New, and need some advice on costume idea
Okay, there's this one of course:
http://members.fortunecity.com/zobovor/soundwave_costume.html
This one probably isn't much use to you:

:P
Here's another that's probably of not much use to you:

Another:

Dammit, Dancin Fool make a kick-ass Soundwave costume (which apparently also included a transforming Laserbeak) but i can't find a pic of it anywhere. There's a tiny thumbnail on Tfcosplay but the link is broken.
Hmmm. Perhaps your best bets would be this:

and this:

Re: New, and need some advice on costume idea
i,m sure with what you,ve told me you would do it will look 100 times better then the first one !!! a suggestion that i could give you is to make a scaled laserbeak and have it on your shoulder with light-up eyes and automated beak and wings !!! that would be something !!!

Soundwaves a great choice for a costume, it's not too difficult to build life sized versions of the tapes by just scaling up the components.

There's a link to the photo of my costume, I have some pictures of laserbeak on my computer at home I'll make sure to post those once I get home.
I've been so lazy this year I need to get going on a costume.

Sweet! I've been wanting to see that Laserbeak for ages, I just kept forgetting to ask.

Awesome costume, although I'm wondering what you made it out of, looks like papermache or cardboard, I can't really tell from the photos.

Re: New, and need some advice on costume idea
These pictures are from a while after I built it so he's kind of in pieces but you get the general idea of what he looked like
http://www.atgig.com/cavproductions/laser.html
It was built out of pink polystyrene from home depot, with a layer of paper mache on top of that, there was a bit of cardboard for details, and the helmet was built out of an old baseball cap and cardboard.
